Lady, you don't get it, do you? You see, I'm remarried to a woman who receives child support for her 17 year old daughter. Her ex cheated and left. He played and now pays. As it should be. My ex played and hit the lottery. The double standard is revolting. I'm not bitter toward women. Just the man-hating system making lawyers, psychologists and cheating women rich.
I just aplologized to you and than I see you say I'm guiltly and that is why I'm defensive. I'm not the least bit guilty, thanks! But I think you saying that shows how you assume a women must be at fault unless they prove to you that they aren't.
First of all, if you make 50 K then you are paying 11,400 to support your son, which is less than one quarter of your earnings. You would have to support him if he was with you, so why regret supporting him if he is not with you?
The system of child support largely IS against men, but that is because the majority of men who have to be taken to court are deabeats and selfish, irresponsible men who do NOT provide for thier children and have to be forced and compelled by the legal system to do so.
What your wife did to you is unfortunate but providing for your child is the right thing no matter what. The court determines the amount you pay based on both partner incomes, lifestyle, and so forth. Let go and be glad you have a child to support at all.
