Activists on both sides of the same-sex marriage debate were anticipating a heated discussion on the topic during the upcoming NAACP National Conference in July. Well it looks like that debate will not be taking place after all.

Whooee! The people they think they represent must have really handed their backsides to them on a platter. This is tatamount to having their face shoved into the mud and filth of their own making...and then holding it there until the cried Uncle!

nahh.. All this means is that rather than addressing it and losing money from the 527's they will ignore it and get money.
Meanwhile their flocks are none the wiser.
I like your blog.
Please keep us posted on this issue.
Huffman works for white secularist liberals so it is inevitable that their contempt for Christians would rub off. A party or politician who proclaims that he/she will "educate" the public has flatly decided that he will ignore its wishes.
I am not surprised for if a resolution of this nature had been presented at the national convention Black Christians would have seen red. The resulting uproar would have split the NAACP. No presenting this memo was institutional self preservation.
This is hardly a NEWs topics. It's been known for
more than a year that the majority of Blacks in this
nation support man-woman relationships as the only recognizable status for marriage. Does religion
have anything to do with it? Of COurse! And the
same belief is held by White Christians, Muslims,
Orientals, Bnai' Braiths, etc. wherein the Laws
of God are held sacred.
The NAACP board of directors were playing a losing
game from the start when they tried to force Black
opinion to side with the liberal view re this topic.
Black "fundamentalists??? I thought that was supposed to be a contradiction in terms! Everyone knows that "fundamentalists" are white folks who believe all mankind are descended from Adam and Eve and therefore are quite logically all racist bigots. [/sarcasm]
Next thing you know the NAACP will withdraw its endorsement of evolution (and after Charles Darwin freed the slaves, at that)!
The NAACP supports the liberal agenda over the interests of black Americans.
When have they come out in defense of Condelezza Rice (and attacked the racist cartoons published against her), Clarance Thomas, or Bush's blocked judicial nominees?
The Democrat Party is a collective of special interest groups with conflicting goals. Minorities support the Democrats, not so much for a race based handout, as scare campaigns that say Republicans are nothing but rich white racists. When you look at moral issues, they do not side with the modern Democrat party.
There are black republicans and hispanic republicans although you would be hard pressed to learn about them in the MSM. When Houston saw a black encumbant (D) running against a Cuban born contender (R) in the run off election, Democrats posted "Gonzales is anti-Hispanic" signs up in minority neighborhoods. Guess he wasn't from the "right" Spanish speaking country (or else his party affiliation in a non-partisan office was wrong).
EVERYONE now agrees that Mayor Lee P. Brown was a rotten mayor and a crook who gave contracts to insiders. A man who horribly mismanaged this city and cast us into bankruptcy. Where were they when another minority candidate got within a few percent of winning the office?
Keeping an incompetant black mayor does nothing to advance the cause of black politicians. Especially when the public knows that he was merely Mayor Bob's puppet (he had been cast out by term limits).
And that runoff election WAS a national race, Terry McAwful himself helped with the knock and drag efforts to win Brown's re-election.
Sometimes a kick in the ass is just that, a kick in the ass. Let's no over analyze this. Let's enjoy it for what it is: a victory for real America in the den of people who have long since willingly cut their ties to real America. This will be a bummer at national dnc HQ.
