A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 6.21.05

Today, President Bush met with Vietnamese Prime Minister, Phan Van Khai in the Oval Office. Khai is visiting Washington to talk with the President about helping Vietnam join the World Trade Organization. It is the first such visit of a Vietnamese leader since the end of the war. He then addressed the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting via satellite (the text of which is given here ).

The President also met with Republican leaders in the White House at a luncheon, accepting a compromise on Social Security, and refusing to back down on the nomination of John Bolton, urging Bill Frist to continue pushing for an up or down vote for Bolton.

This afternoon, the President attended the swearing in ceremony of Dr. Ben S. Bernanke as new Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Executive Building in the White House complex.

Very odd. But it's been 30 years, and this PM is trying to rectify human rights problems.

However, I'm sure they're being treated with great caution....

LOL! What do any of us know, goodness?

The relationship between our two countries was 'normalized' 10 years ago.........whatever that means, really......

Hi Ohio, Saw your earlier question re the book
"The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy" I have the book
but have not read it yet. yes, the background on
Soros should be a must for all. David Horowitz's
site Front Page has quite a bit on him.

I recommend reading it, SoCal. It's pretty scary, but it lets you know how very well organized the left is in trying to regain power........and how they don't care whether what they do is legal, or not.

Some pretty freaky information about the guy in NYC who did the "Patriot Act" anti-Bush show...........the one that accuses Bush of beginning a theocracy, but then does some strange thing with a picture of the President in the flightsuit, and pointing out..............well, you'll have to read it. It's not PG/DOSE friendly stuff.

These people are all SICK!

Aha - I found a translator between British and American.

See http://cgi.peak.org/~jeremy/retort.cgi.

According to it, in British, purse is:

coin purse or change purse
and in American, purse is:
lady’s handbag, bag

I was going to freep you. I had to use my old method of posting since the photo site you provided wouldn't let me upload pictures.

Did I do something wrong? Or has something changed?

A new book out, a good one for those who need some background on the cast of characters on the lefty maroons

100 People Who Are Screwing Up America

No preaching. No pontificating. Just some uncommon sense about the things that have made this country great -- and the culprits who are screwing it up.

Bernard Goldberg takes dead aim at the America Bashers (the cultural elites who look down their snobby noses at "ordinary" Americans) ... the Hollywood Blowhards (incredibly ditzy celebrities who think they're smart just because they're famous) ... the TV Schlockmeisters (including the one whose show has been compared to a churning mass of maggots devouring rotten meat) ... the Intellectual Thugs (bigwigs at some of our best colleges, whose views run the gamut from left wing to far left wing) ... and many more.

Goldberg names names, counting down the villains in his rogues' gallery from 100 all the way to 1 -- and, yes, you-know-who is number 37. Some supposedly "serious" journalists also made the list, including the journalist-diva who sold out her integrity and hosted one of the dumbest hours in the history of network television news. And there are those famous miscreants who have made America a nastier place than it ought to be -- a far more selfish, vulgar, and cynical place.

But Goldberg doesn't just round up the usual suspects we have come to know and detest. He also exposes some of the people who operate away from the limelight but still manage to pull a lot of strings and do all sorts of harm to our culture. Most of all, 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America is about a country where as long as anything goes, as one of the good guys in the book puts it, sooner or later everything will go.

This is serious stuff for sure. But Goldberg will also make you laugh as he harpoons scoundrels like the congresswoman who thinks there aren't enough hurricanes named after black people, and the environmentalist to the stars who yells at total strangers driving SUVs -- even though she tools around the country in a gas-guzzling private jet.

With Bias, Bernard Goldberg took us behind the scenes and exposed the way Big Journalism distorts the news. Now he has written a book that goes even further. This time he casts his eye on American culture at large -- and the result is a book that is sure to become the voice of all those Americans who feel that no one is speaking for them on perhaps the most vital issue of all: the kind of country in which we want to live.

About the Author
Bernard Goldberg is the author of the number one New York Times bestseller Bias as well as the national bestseller Arrogance. He has won six Emmy Awards for his work as a senior correspondent on the CBS program 48 Hours.
