slushy, slurpy, icee,

Slurpy! I knew smeone would come up with it.

I've also seen "Icee", "Ices" and the "slushy" but never "slush puppies"!

Where in the US are they called "slush puppies", do you know?

Well, you've been missed as Hostess, but you've got so much good help around here! Wish I had gotten here earlier, but better late than never. And I can't stay too long either because I have to get up early in the morning for work.

An East Coast chain called "Chee'burger" makes milkshakes to die for. They have zillions of flavors, and they're made with Edy's ice cream and milk. They do serve them with the metal container.
I eat the cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches there sometimes, but I am totally hooked on the shakes.
For sure, I'd eat a burger and shake there every day if I didn't know it was a bad idea.

Well, I can't stay long either, cause I gotta get up in the morning, and it's getting late!

Can't wait til our First Couple go to their romantic getaway at the ranch.

Lots of good jeans pictures, and maybe some hand in hand walks for us to see. :o)

LOL! Burgers and milkshakes are special treats only for me.

Milkshakes, maybe two or three a year??

Are those Chee'burgers all over the East Coast, or just in one region?

Sounds like it may be worth the 8 hour trip to the coast. :o)

I call THAT a "Billfold", ohio. Do you suppose that is a Texan or Southern thing? I know plenty of
others who call it that as well.

Billfold and Wallet are pretty much interchangeable for me.

Usually only guys carry billfolds, though, and a wallet can be either.

Who knows where these terms come from and how we use them?? It's kinda crazy!

Good night!

I've only dreamed about W once, and we were just sitting there having a friendly conversation...........just like I think we really would if I actually ever REALLY met him.

Nice man. Nice, nice man......

Jumping into the purse, pocketbook, bag commentary.

Let's see - my Mom's side from upstate New York, my Dad's side from Richmond, VA and Brooklyn, NY - everybody in my family called it, and still does, pocketbook.

On occasion, having heard "purse" so much in MD and No. VA, I might call what I'm carrying my "purse" but will usually call it pocketbook.

Y'all might like to know when I went to the DMV at Fair Oaks Mall, JCPenney (which you go through from the parking lot, to get to the DMV) was having a huge "Summer Pocketbook" sale. When I left the DMV, I checked out the Summer sales at Saks, and yup, they were having a "Pocketbook Sale", too!!!

I wonder where KMart is headquartered. I happened to see a national flyer for KMart for the Memorial Day weekend, and "All purses, shoes, jackets and beachwear" were on special markdown sales. The "purses" caught my eye, which is why I remember seeing the ad, but frankly, detest KMart. I've never been in them that some hairy guy isn't about to rip a little 2-old's arm right out of the socket (usually a girl in something pink) and after 2 excursions into their stores where I was greeted with that sight immediately upon entering, I haven't darkened the door of another since! (I'm easily trained. Can you tell? LOL!!)

Well, down here/out here if a ladies' is not called a Billfold the alternative might be Change Purse. I don't say Wallet and I can't think of people who do. Oh of course, some Texan is bound to chime in that THEY say Wallet... Anyhow, I and my mother say Billfold, whether we mean masculine or feminine. And most others that I know of do, too. Odd, I had never thought about this before.

What park of Brooklyn? My great great grandfather
a major Republican was a St. Sen. rep. the Bushwick
area of Brooklyn when it still had a big German pop.

Oh........also.......there is an island off No. Carolina where they still sound exactly the same as they do in that part of England because they have been isolated from the mainland and the changing dialect over the years.

I don't know about the one off of NC, but there is an island off of Southern Maryland, that has the exact British accent of their ancestors. Most of them are still making their living at either farming or fishing and are very rugged. They tolerate visitors to their stores and restaurants, but really want to see everybody get on the boat/ferry to go home at night!

Smith Island? I'm trying to remember the name of it.

I'm sure snugs was speaking relative to Great Britain, Truth.

Of course, all people in England have accents compared to American dialect, but within England there are stronger accents in certain parts of the country.

The part where snugs lives, like the part of the country where I live, relatively speaking, have purer language and less dialect.

That's the one..........it's off Maryland, and I think it's Tangier Island.

Gotta get out of here! It's WAY past my bedtime!

I'll check back in the a.m. to see if you think that's right....
