Don't ever work in a burn ward. I'll take your word for it.

You are posting incorrect outdated information.
There are some types of pain that require multi-modality.
When morphine and other opioid analgesics are prescribed for the management of pain, the dose is sometimes raised to be sure that pain is well-controlled 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Opioids given to relieve pain generally do not lead to the development of tolerance. As a disease, like cancer, progresses, more opioid may be needed to control the pain on a continuing basis.

I have a relative who is an internal medicine doc, and I've asked him about these allegations that morphine is used to hasten death. He told me that a morphine drip is usually used only with patients who are very near death, and they are monitored. If their respiration starts to slow down (morphine is a narcotic, which certainly can suppress respiration in overdose), the morphine dosage is reduced. Maybe there are cases where it's been used to hasten death, but he didn't know of any.

I didn't say whether Michael was or wasn't. I simply said scripture states that not all are children of God.Chapter and Verse, please?

I speak for myself. I am interested in this case because I think the wrong outcome was reached, and I dont give a hoot how you choose to live or die.
Get it?

"
Some of us are concerned with the unjust outcome of THIS case and dont give a hoot how you choose to live or die." According to the law, the outcome of this case was not "unjust". Put it in writing HOW you want to die or live, and if it's not in writing, PRAY that the courts will believe your spouse concerning your wishes...(Although because of this case, I'm pretty sure they will :)

Care to explain how the use of defibrillators and feeding tubes are the will of God, while pain medication is not?
