I called Senator Dick Durbin's office this morning at (202) 224-2152 and, after being on hold for a while, laid out the reasons why I think Durbin should resign from the Senate. His staffer told me that as of this morning, he is standing by his statement comparing American soldiers to the Nazis, the Communists and the Khmer Rouge. There was one caveat, however: the staffer told me that Durbin never actually said "American soldiers," and that there are also contract interrogators at Guantanamo Bay. I asked whether Durbin was trying to claim that everything bad about Gitmo was the fault of civilians, and the army has nothing to do with it. She backtracked quickly and denied that this was Durbin's theory--it would, of course, be an absurd claim since the military runs Guantanamo Bay and sets the policies there. Her evasion shows, though, how deeply dishonest Durbin's position is.
We'd be interested to hear from others how their calls to Durbin's office are received.
Durbin is now searching for a dead guy to blame.
Durbin.
The 100% pig-like, traitorous, libelous, buffoonish, vile, loathsome, profoundly dishonest, obstructionist, corrupt, deceitful, anti-American, devisive, manipulative fecal-mass-pretending-to-be-a-human.
Durbinism - Anti-American statements, made by Americans, for political gain, whether or not those who make the statements believe them.
Apparently Durbin is going to be the star host for a DNC fund raisers this week...so I guess the DemoCRAP party isn't taking this too seriously! His Nazi comment isn't on the mediaWHORES radar either, so I guess, just like that liberal idiot Churchill, the presstitutes think the longer they continue to shield this traitor the chances are, folk will forget with time!
This is reminding me of the joke about the BIG MOUTHED FROG!.
We should keep the heat on Durbin.
GITMO is a Navy Base...there are NO Army MPs guarding prisoners there, instead the guards are either Marine NCOs or Navy Master-at-Arms rated petty officers.
what exactly is the definition of "treason?"
You have no shame and the demo rt party has no shame.
The fact is, that Durbin said "Americans" twice in the last paragraph of his speech---both times linking them to the "abuse/torture" at Gitmo....
We don't know right now, who for sure was in charge of these detainees, but just that fact that they are Americans, and Durbin, who doesn't know who they are either, is comparing them to the SS, Soviet gulag guards, the the Khmer Rouge....is enough to make him leave...IMHO
Well he got his 15 minutes of Jerry Springer-like infamy. Now more people know his name, etc.
Funny how some union people I know agree with Durbin. They'll do and say anything to knock down this country when a Republican is at the helm.
The stench of democrats these days is unbearable.

Dear Mr. Gutierrez:
Nothing could have prepared me for the shock that awaited as I exited the front door of my home early Wednesday morning, where I discovered that your lawn crew had cut a swath of environmental destruction across my yard so horrifying that it only can be compared to the Rape of Nanking. I can scarcely bring myself to describe the killing fields that are my North azalea beds and the brutal degradation and torture suffered by the bluegrass around the locust tree by the rear patio. I am writing to inform you that I have contacted the US Department of Interior to conduct a full independent investigation into Gutierrez Brothers' actions in this matter. Please be advised that you may be subpoenaed for records pertaining to mower height, pruning shear maintenance, and leaf blower emissions. I would also advise your crewmen to heed the lessons of the Judgement At Nurenburg: although they may be spared the justice due their superiors, "I was only following orders" is not an excuse.
Sincerely,
Senator Richard J. Durbin

"what exactly is the definition of "treason?""
I posted a thread on the legal history of TREASON here yesterday:

Yes, Newt has, but who else? Where is McPain? Where is Frist? Where are the so-called moderate 7?
I am sure there are Defense Intelligence and CIA specialists there that are monitoring the prisoners.
Given that these Al-Queda prisoners were associated with or contributed to mass murder of innocent civilians, I would be in favor of public hangings of their leaders and life imprisonment under harsh yet humane conditions for the remainder. For example, solitary confinement is harsh yet humane.
After all isn't that exactly how American military forces handled captured members of Hitler's SS?
The poor unsuspecting voters of Illinois are continuing to be likened to those of Massachusetts. They just lose their minds at voting time.
Hmm, maybe Hagel? . . . nah
"Things aren't getting better; they're getting worse. The White House is completely disconnected from reality," said Hagel, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee. "It's like they're just making it up as they go along. The reality is that we're losing in Iraq."
Giving aid and comfort to the enemy. That is treason.
Sorry I didn't freep yesterday, will check out this link.
i've faxed a definition of treason to Durbin's office.
