"What is going on here?????"

An appeasement policy towards an aggression policy, in hope the aggressors will calm down.
Reminds me a story that occurred in the 30s in Europe.....

The world history book your referencing is woefully out-of-date.

West Bank and Gaza Strip are Israeli-occupied with current status subject to the Israeli-Palestinian Interim Agreement - permanent status to be determined through further negotiation; Israel continues construction of a "seam line" separation barrier along parts of the Green Line and within the West Bank; Israel announced its intention to pull out Israeli settlers and withdraw from the Gaza Strip and four settlements in the northern West Bank in 2005; Golan Heights is Israeli-occupied (Lebanon claims the Shab'a Farms area of Golan Heights).

Per CIA World Fact Book.

Tell me something, do you know when and why were those territories occupied?

Israel has rights and should keep all the land it has won through war (what's left of it, anyway.) Unless the U.S. gives back all the land it swore the Indians could have through treaties, then everyone should shut their pie holes and stop cowtowing to terrorists.

Any Psychology 101 student will tell you that humans and animals repeat acts which bring rewards.

Were I an Arab, I would bless Allah for the victory and make plan to blow up a thousand buses and hospitals.

Endless rewards await. Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel Aviv.

And by the way.

We attacked New York and Washington and got the US to betray Israel.

What do we get for destroying LA and Chicago?

Allah Akbar

That is my point, in the 30s the western powers, lead by Britain, thought the best way to deal with Hitler's aggression is by an appeasement policy, but all it done was to convince Hitler that he can do more and more and no one will stop him.

The same thing is going on in Israel. Sharon is trying the appeasement option against an aggressor. He probably skipped over the history lessons about World War-II...

Sure, question is, do they want peace or not?

Sharon is either gone or has a red hot American poker up his a**.

Why aren't the Israeli people getting in the streets and stopping this insanity?

SECRETARY RICE: I will certainly say to the Israelis what we’ve continued to say to the Israelis, which is that the United States has very clear policy on this. They also have very clear obligations under the roadmap. And we don’t intend to give -- we don’t intend that the Israelis try to create facts on the ground. They simply cannot engage in activities that are supposed to somehow prejudge a final status outcome.

It stinks that they even think they have such a policy.

Remove the arab occupiers from Israel and half the problem is solved.

Is that a serious question? Do you doubt that Israel wants peace? That's why they are the ones who keep giving up stuff and getting NOTHING but MURDER in return. Because the people of Israel keep hoping against hope that somehow, if they give up land, it will make the killing stop. BUT IT NEVER HAS. EVER.

Good!

Do you know who started the war?
The Arab aggression started the war.

Do you know what Israel did to save itself from destruction?

It launched a very successful preemptive strike and within six days occupied the Sinai desert from Egypt, the Golan Heights from Syria, the West Bank (under Jordanian occupation between 48-67) and Gaza (under Egyptian occupation between 48-67).

Kinda strange that the Palis never asked for independence when they were under Jordanian and Egyptian occupation, don't you think?

The Bush administration is playing with fire by forcing Israel into an untenable defense position. Does any world leader stand up for what's right any more? Is the corruption wordwide complete? The world is badly deceived and ripe to unite in a unholy alliance against common sense and righteousness.
