I'm reposting something I just posted on another thread.  Surely I'm not the only one here who's bothered by the laziness that has crept into FR.  I'm talking about replies that omit the original statement, leaving the reader to wonder if it's worth the cyber-trip to go see what was originally said. Maybe someone will listen and make it easier for my feeble mind. :-)

Arrrgh!  You guys are driving me crazy!  These are just a few of the many ambiguous comments a reader of this thread has to wade through, none of which contains background information about the original statement or question.

• I agree w/both of your assessments.

• Well, if that's what happened to her it's a pretty horrible thing, but on the good side, she's still alive.

• I kinda gathered that just from watching him.

Now, here's an example of some replies I'm thinking of making in the future.  If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

• Oh. My. Gosh.  That's the most fascinating theory I've seen to date! It has everything: money, violence, and sex!

• You're kidding! Are you serious?  Did her husband find out about it?!

• I'm with you on that one.  Great comments that showed intelligent reflection and analysis.  I wish I had said it myself.

• You're wrong.  I am not guilty of doing that. I would never do that!
