I thought the same thing; I bet he saw Greta last night talking about how strange he acted with all that hand wrining the day before.
On Greta they did a close up of him sweating during the interview with Joran's mother.
Thanks, howlin.
Anyone can see that this whole thing was set up to portray the Van der Sloots in the same light as Beth Holloway--as agonizing parents. The interview was orchestrated to evoke pity for Anita and Paulus.
BOO-HOO: Anita cannot discuss the case with Joran. BOO-friggin' HOO-- she wants to bring him clean sheets. He doesn't have enough water to shave. His showers are all too brief.
I swear she was making me sick to my stomach. The big brute is ALIVE and she CAN SEE HIM.
Meanwhile, where is Natalee? When will her mother see her again??
I wonder what Greta has said privately to Natalee's mother...her take on Joran's family, the whole set up at the house with the refreshments and candle by the prayer card, the convenient phone call taking Papa VdS away from the interview at a tricky point, etc.. Clearly, it was carefully thought out and arranged, desperately needed after Papa VdS.'s flight from the press the night before (smacked of guilty knowledge), and his behavior the first night at the Holiday Inn. Greta has so much legal experience, there's no way Joran's family fooled her, so she must have confided her thoughts to Natalee's mother and family, perhaps suggested more approaches that might work.
