I wonder what Greta has said privately to Natalee's mother...her take on Joran's family, the whole set up at the house with the refreshments and candle by the prayer card, the convenient phone call taking Papa VdS away from the interview at a tricky point, etc.. Clearly, it was carefully thought out and arranged, desperately needed after Papa VdS.'s flight from the press the night before (smacked of guilty knowledge), and his behavior the first night at the Holiday Inn. Greta has so much legal experience, there's no way Joran's family fooled her, so she must have confided her thoughts to Natalee's mother and family, perhaps suggested more approaches that might work.

Greta's probably having a hard time being an unbiased journalist right about now. I've heard her say several times how the Fox News people don't just "report the news" on these types of stories -- they go around and visit and get to know the parties involved.

Someone on this thread mentioned how Greta had sold out by doing the VDS interview, but I disagree 100%. That's what I expect. I want to see both sides so I can make my own decision.

The refreshments and the candle w/ the prayer card could just be a European thing. My MIL was Austrian and I know she was a big one for that kind of thing. Serving the least little thing on a platter, setting cards/flowers up on the table. Candles here and there.

Everything was always about atmosphere and this was even for the briefest of visits. It might be hard for us to "read" some of these things because of differences in culture and background.

Joran also reminds me of my husband when he was young (even to the point of looking like him somewhat). He, too, was very tall at that age (6'4"), quite spoiled, went to an International School, and would go out carousing with other internationals like Joran. His mother would be at her wits' end with him. I can so much seeing him getting himself in such a situation, but not being guilty of murder.

I don't know WHAT happened, of course, I just hope the real truth somehow comes out, whether it is the three being guilty or others. I pray they are following all possible scenarios.
