Did Lucy Ramirez Find The Downing Street Memos?(Fake, but accurate memos??)

The media and the Leftists have had a field day with the Downing Street memos that they claim imply that the Bush administration lied about the intelligence on WMD in order to justify the attack on Iraq. Despite the fact that none of the memos actually say that, none of them quote any officials or any documents, and that the text of the memos show that the British government worried about the deployment of WMD by Saddam against Coalition troops, Kuwait and/or Israel, the meme continues to survive.

Until tonight, however, no one questioned the authenticity of the documents provided by the Times of London. That has now changed, as Times reporter Michael Smith admitted that the memos he used are not originals, but retyped copies (via LGF and CQ reader Sapper):

The eight memos — all labeled "secret" or "confidential" — were first obtained by British reporter Michael Smith, who has written about them in The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times. Smith told AP he protected the identity of the source he had obtained the documents from by typing copies of them on plain paper and destroying the originals.

The AP obtained copies of six of the memos (the other two have circulated widely). A senior British official who reviewed the copies said their content appeared authentic. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of the secret nature of the material.

"f a newspaper claimed to have documents showing that, say, John Kerry had fabricated details of his service in Vietnam, and Kerry made no comment whatsoever, would you not consider that fairly telling?"

Nothing of the sort has happened. We have people who were there telling what really happened, and John Fraud Kerry refusing to grant unfettered access to his records. If they were false, he would have nothing to hide, and release them. obviously he has something to hide, so the allegations are not fairy tales.

"Now back to your 'happy homo family' threads, Limeytrollzot."

Did you actually read that thread? I mainly posed questions and dared to consider the possibility that being raised by homosexual parents might not be worse for a child than being raised in a Council Care Home with no parents at all. I apologise for keeping an open mind, like.

I wasn't saying it had happened, it was a hypothetical question!

Good find. Excellent summary and analysis. Let's get the facts out and beat their brains out with them.

Oh, the 'what if' angle. I don't deal with fairy tales, I like to just deal with the facts as they are presented.

What if' the memo's came from Saddam's buddy, what's his name, The guy with the big mouth and lots of money from his charity?

Apparently you aren't paying attention.

Try this on a Google search. (without the quotes)

"blair/bush deny downing street memos"

This is a fine way to wake up in the morning.

I'll just point out that even when "re-creating" memos, they fail to nail any bad thing on Blair or Bush.

The purported memos Rather aired were hardly compelling as some kind of misconduct even had they been true.

Same here.

That makes the contortions these libs go through to manufacture weak "evidence" for removal from office and/or impeachment all the more hilarious.

Oh yea, being raised by homosexuals, and being at risk of being sexualy abused, bugged memtaly damaged, or even raised to believe anal sex between men is "ok" would be better than an orphange where at least you have a room full of witnesses if something bad did happened to you. I think not. many people were raised in a boys school even though they had 2 parents, they survived. Only the odd kid was sexually abused by the Anglican priest.

Oh, and don't forget Joseph Wilson and Richard Clakre. They, too, were once considered American Government and peddled lies for there own agenda, as well.

Joe Wilson is involved in this. He was featured at Conyers' sham "forum". This Downing Street Memo business has always struck me as an extension or morphing of the "Yellowcake/Sexed Up Dossier" scam the libs in both countries attempted before.

Typical liberal communist manifesto doctrine play-book at work. Why would one want to destroy the originals if they might be needed to verify the authenticity of said memos? Another Rather-Gate exposed, now let's impeach/recall/pressure to resign all the congressman/senators involved in this treasonous act against our POTUS and the United States of America while at war. Err I did. Nothing on a news search (although I've been watching the news anyway and I'm pretty sure they'd have reported if Tony Blair had made a statement on this today.

On a normal google search I get lots of matches for the words which seem to deal with the original memo, rather than these new ones. None of them deny the actual existence of the memo of course, exactly the opposite, the first match has a quote from Tony Blair referring to the time that it was written:

"Q: Thank you, sir. On Iraq, the so-called "Downing Street Memo" from July 2002, says, "Intelligence and facts remain fixed around the policy of removing Saddam through military actions." Is this an accurate reflection of what happened? Could both of you respond?

BLAIR: Well, I can respond to that very easily. No, the facts were not being fixed in any shape or form at all. And let me remind you that that memorandum was written before we then went to the United Nations."

I've no idea what a broom closet has to do with anything.

It is in reference to the fact that the demonRATS held their "hearings" to impeach President Bush, in a room in the basement of the Capitol building.

Your name suits you. And since you are wearing out this thread, just what kind of holiday jollies does a Git like you get by trolling here? Are you so deformed that you can't be a prat at the local fish & chips? They might even give you a box to stand on (or put over your head).

Just telling it like I see it. I said that the first Downing Street memos weren't fakes when people on here were saying they were and was proved correct. I don't think these are either. I'll be back to admit my mistake if I turn out to be wrong!
