I remember distinctly my liberal colleagues saying on 9/11 that Bush better do something about these attacks.
4 years later these same people are screaming we should abandon Iraq, and Afghanistan, and calling these wars Bush's trumped up wars.
Incredibly stupid are these people. Incredibly stupid.
I was and still am for the ouster of Saddam and for the liberation of Iraq but Iraq had no direct links to 9/11. I had no problem with the invasion but I did have problems with the excuses that were given for invasion (and its execution) and the credible political opposition's take on the Iraqi invasion is reasonable.
It is beyond me that there is more concern for the poor bastard prisoners at Gitmo, then for our soldiers who are over there working detail, and enduring the crap these creeps put on them.
The best sellers by "name" authors are driving the entire industry. Yes, there are best sellers, they exist, but the odds of a first-timer hitting that "hole in one" are daunting. In the publishing world first time novelists are mere cannon fodder, grist for the mill. A newly-hatched baby sea turtle faces better odds than a first time novelist.
And why should 5th Avenue care? No matter how badly or stupidly they treat first time authors, another 100 unsolicited manuscripts will arrive tomorrow.
OTOH, you have A Patriot's History to point to, which is a plus for getting your first novel published. However, that merely puts you on the shelf for 60-90 days, and as I mentioned, 19 out of 20 first-time novels end up in the returned unsold bin, and these "failed" authors don't get a chance to publish novel #2.
Doing it on my own, I've sold over 5,000, and trust me, I'm getting a lot more back than 8% royalties.

Sorry to disagree with you, but I am being brutally honest. These liberals, who are very thick in this town where I live, are saying that! They are not fringed, they come from the University that is here, and they come from the democratic stronghold that this area is.
Their hatred of Bush is seething, and they will say anything to undermine the success that we have had in the Mideast. I know of what I speak, and what I see!
I have been battling these people since Afghanistan!
IN regard to Iraq not having a direct link, follow the money that came from Huessein to sponsor these Al Queda camps. (This has been proven... there is a money trail that leads to Huessein.)The German officials also confirmed that Mohamed Atta, met with Huessein's people in Cologne some months before he re-entered the United States.
I am sorry, you are very worng - was no link to 9/11 and Saddam and people in Universities are not credible people. In any case, like I said I am for the liberation of Iraq but I understand why there is opposition to the Iraq invasion. Afghanistan was 100% justified no ifs ands or buts.

Rush has also mentioned the links from Al Queda to Saddam. Don't tell me this is not credible.
And dismissing University people as not credible, doesn't it make their arguments any less real!
I don't undestand the opposition to Iraq. If you stabilize that region, there is a chance that you can start a domino effect that will have repercussions in the future in regards to Mid-East relations!
After the NYC attack, I first learned of the Pentagon attack as it happened "live" since I was on the phone at the time with someone who saw it hit. I remember thinking if the heart of our defense has been hit, what/who will it be in the next hour? I remember calling Mr. HR and saying that whatever happens, we'll do our best to meet at home. I CANNOT BELIEVE I--AN AMERICAN WAS MADE TO FEEL THAT VULNERABLE. How dare they try to get me to forget.
