June 17, 2005 -- A Queens couple claims their daughter's memories of elementary school have been marred by a "horrible" yearbook pho- to, and are demanding the school recall all 200 books and replace the picture. Michelle Maihepat, of South Ozone Park, said her 11-year-old daughter, Asheana, is so embarrassed by the "bad picture" that she has been crying and hiding her face in shame from her sixth-grade classmates at PS 121 since the yearbooks were distributed Monday. "For the rest of her life, she's going to have to be ashamed of that horrible picture," Maihepat said. "Twenty years down the line, she's going to look at this book with her friends, and her friends are going to say, 'What happened to you there?' "

Of course! I think it's like an initiation to the real world.
Apparently these parents don't want their kid in the real world.
ROFLMAO!
Careful......you're gonna offend a lot of us oldsters here. :-)
What are you talking about? I think you are absolutely darling! Bend down a little bit, I wanna rub your head, but don't you dare spit on me.
Sad but true.
oh for cripe's sake - that mom is a total dipdunk. Perhaps HER parents were wading too much in the shallow end of the gene pool as well.
Her parents mated. LMAO!
My daughter in high school said when people look at the yearbook, 20 years from now, she will be remembered as the one who was in the news because of the bad photo. If mom just left it alone she would have been totally forgotten!
Man! that's one who really deserves the burlap.
Apparently the parents aren't in the real world b/c their perspective of their kid seems a bit awry.
Instead of raising this legal stink here parents should just take her aside and say to her, "Honey, you just need to face the fact that you are fat and ugly and the only way you are going to look good in a photo is if it is Photoshopped".
I didn't say I laughed at them. I'm interested in fashions and hairstyles. Anything from the Dark Ages through the 1980's. Some of those early 60's styles are quite classy.
Geez...my yearbook picture looks like I have too much makeup on (and I don't wear makeup), my state id photo looks like something scared me, and in my passport photo I look like a homeless person. It's not that big of a deal. I like to show them around to people for laughs.
This child and her parents need to get a life.
Yes, some of them were; and a LOT of them are back; for instance, all those Lilly prints. I myself have a Lilly bermuda bag this year!
I've seen worse.
I thought all yearbook pictures were bad. These people are crazy. What if she turns out beautiful, then she can show her "ugly" yearbook picture and say "SEE".
She may also learn to play the cards life deals her. She will probably have to learn life's lessons with little help from her parents.
grade school yearbook? wtf is that for?
