"Kerry distorts, takes out of context, and mistakes all the time, but these are not central to his efforts to win."
Now THAT is funny.

When I see flags sprouting on official lapels, I think of the time in China when I saw Maos Little Red Book on every officials desk, omnipresent and unread. -- Bill Moyers on PBSs Now "I think if Kerry were to win this in a tight race, I think there would be an effort to mount a coup, quite frankly." -- Bill Moyers from PBS's Now show
Is this guy the biggest idiot on TV or what?

My favorite is still:
Boston Globe reporter Charles Pierce won a National Headliner Award, in the category newspaper magazine writing, for story titled, Deconstructing Ted. In that January 5, 2003 piece, Pierce effused: If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age.

If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age. Oh my g*d, this has got to be one one the most insensitive and stupid things I've read in a long while.

The World Trade Center was bombed in 1993, Bubba Klintoon never read the daily report prepared for him by the CIA, Bubba got rolled by the North Koreans, Bubba sold us out to the Chinese for campaign money, and al-Quaeda continued to attack us all through the 90's, but Bubba never had his shot at greatness or leadership?
Chrissy Boy Matthews is an idiot.

More likely, he'd have brought her an Ancient Age & Southern Comfort on the rocks. Yeah, and offer to give her a ride home. He's such a kind man.

but Bubba never had his shot at greatness No, he was too busy taking a shot at the interns. Whether he was great or not is between him and them.

"There is, Hugh, I agree with you, a deep anti-military bias in the media. One that begins from the premise that the military must be lying, and that American projection of power around the world must be wrong. I think that that is a hangover from Vietnam, and I think it's very dangerous. That's different from the media doing its job of challenging the exercise of power without fear or favor." -- ABC's Terry Moran I happen to agree with this one 100%. And it isn't just the American media who take this position. Notice how quickly the emphasis changed once the actual reports from the embedded journalists were no longer headline news.

How about that one from the Boston Globe before the election (March 2004?): they quoted Kerry as saying many foreign leaders supported him, and Kerry made a lot of speeches to that effect, then I believe no less than Colin Powell said, ok, let's have those names, then all of a sudden the Boston Globe reports again, oops, ah, we transcribed the tape wrong, he said "more leaders" not "foreign leaders" -- AFTER KERRY HAD BEEN DEFENDING THE COMMENT FOR DAYS AND DAYS.
