Gov. Jeb Bush said Thursday he might ask a state attorney to investigate allegations that Terri Schiavo's husband waited more than an hour to call 911 after her 1990 collapse.
"There's some doubt about when she did collapse and how long it took ... for the 911 call to be made," Bush said. "Which I think is worthy of some investigation. I don't know what form it would take."
Bush said he might ask Bernie McCabe, state attorney for Pinellas-Pasco, to look into the issue, but that would have to wait until McCabe returned from vacation.

I was surprised to read this, but I hope they will look into it. The Medical Examiner's report mentioned the gap in time as well.

Let him ask.
Any light put on this case is good. Don't shoot the man that's trying to ask the right questions.

If he is looking for the truth, he is wasting his time having McCabe look into it.

I'm going to throw this out for you guys to pick over.
Terri's collapse, if caused by foul play, is not prosecutable as the statute of limitations has certainly run out.
Only murder has no limitation on time and........oops, Terri died at her husbands orders and the direct result of his assault (if there was one), Bingo, murder.
Mean Mikey may have screwed himself, if Terri remained alive limitations would have prevented prosecution.

Gov. Bush, mean no disrespect, but can't come with you on this one. Why couldn't you flip the 9 idiot GOP legislators in your own party that could have saved her?
And if you couldn't persuade them what's the use of having a GOP Pres., Speaker of the House, Senate Majority Leader, Tom Delay- if they can't flip State weasels and traitors to their party.
Investigation, by all means. But, certainly the investigation could have been avoided, if the GOP could only learn that we have to control our own.
Democrats have always understood this for years- when the GOP does, then we'll become a great party.

Was this the first time the gap was mentioned? I don't remember reading or hearing anything about this.

This wasn't brought up in the malpractice trail...there were no charges filed against Schiavo at the time of the incident...why on earth are people grasping at straws 15 years after the fact when they obviously didn't think it was a big deal at the time?

That's the problem. Jeb had the power to save her and didn't. Now Terri's dead he wants to do something. Far too late.
What's that old saying about actions speaking louder than words?
