“I traveled to Niger and satisfied myself…that it was highly unlikely such a transaction took place.” Describing two contemporaneous Niger investigations that likewise reported the report was bunk. Then he heard Bush make the uranium claim and was “mildly curious,” because he didn’t realize Bush was talking about Niger.

Questions about the claims began gathering steam. March 2003 had the director of the IAEA stating that the documents ‘proving’ the uranium-Iraq exchange were crude forgeries.

Right, that's why his "findings" (ahem) were never briefed to the Vice President.

Or anyone else at the WH, for that matter.
