Rep. John Conyers, Jr., and other Democrats hold a public meeting concerning the "Downing Street Memo" and pre-war intelligence on Iraq.
On May 1, 2005 a Sunday London Times article disclosed the details of a classified memo, also known as the "Downing Street Minutes", recounting the minutes of a July 2002 meeting of Prime Minister Tony Blair with his advisers that depicted an American president already committed to going to war in the summer of 2002, despite contrary assertions to the public and the Congress. The minutes also described apparent efforts by Bush administration officials to manipulate intelligence data in order to justify the war to the international community.
The hearing is scheduled to be rerun on C-SPAN 2 at 8 p.m. EDT.

AlRighT!! It's my Moderate Senator who is very strong on the military.!!!!
Attacks the notion that anything we do could possibly be associated.
"I feel apologies are called for" to the men and women of our armed forces.
"These allegations have no basis in fact or history".
McConnells' running this, now Martinez is up.
Think about this:
If the MSM cover the memo as "proving Bush lied," it should be more damaging to their credibility than Rathergate.
Good! But Rush says no. It's what he really feels, just keep playing it over and over again.
bookmark..numb computer butt
I actually tend to agree with Rush on that, but it is a big, big smack to Durbin for Warner to say this. It's hugh in fact.
Durbin is speaking!
Durbin is up.
Durbin is on the floor will speak
Durbin ALMOST up. Doesn't want to ask a question, so Warner is still talking, and then will give floor to Durbin.
Now he's making Durbin listen to his scolding....!!!!!!
DUrbin starts by lying that he didn't know anything about his colleagues coming to talk about him....
Now he says the FBI report is uncontroverted. NOW HE IS GOING TO READ IT AGAIN.
"So my colleagues who might not have had time to reflect on it".....
"listen to this"
He's saying they didn't listen, and were stupid. And he thinks he has been mischaracterized.
I wish someone would get his comments (and the other comments) from Shultz's show.
Durbin is actually going to re-read the statement again so "his collegues can reflect upon it." What a lot of f'ing nerve. We've all heard the whole thing and we have come to our conclusions, and we are right, you are a piece of cr@p.
Durbin doesn't get it!!! It was his comment!!!
Durbin re-reading the same FBI agent's letter describing "atrocities" at Gitmo. Durbin's recap to CYA by laying blame on this letter.
This FBI statement doesn't make sense. The agents says "A COUPLE OF TIMES I WENT INTO A ROOM". Note, "A COUPLE". Then he says "Often the detainees have", but he only did it a couple of times, not "often".
Cartman voice *I hate Democrats*
Now he is repeating what he said yesterday. He doesn't get that, in context, his statement that you would assume this was horrible if you read it -- meaning he thinks this IS horrible.
OOPS...Cartman voice *Democrats Piss Me OFF!*
Now he is saying that we wouldn't condone this conduct. Some might agree with that, and if he had simply SAID that I don't think there would be a real outrage.
But "not condoning" is a far cry from "sounds like a gulag, or "Hitler's holocaust".
"Re-write the rules". My god, wasn't that the line from the judicial fight?
No apologies from Durbin yet?
