Rep. John Conyers, Jr., and other Democrats hold a public meeting concerning the "Downing Street Memo" and pre-war intelligence on Iraq.
On May 1, 2005 a Sunday London Times article disclosed the details of a classified memo, also known as the "Downing Street Minutes", recounting the minutes of a July 2002 meeting of Prime Minister Tony Blair with his advisers that depicted an American president already committed to going to war in the summer of 2002, despite contrary assertions to the public and the Congress. The minutes also described apparent efforts by Bush administration officials to manipulate intelligence data in order to justify the war to the international community.
The hearing is scheduled to be rerun on C-SPAN 2 at 8 p.m. EDT.

It seems like they feel the need to have as many flags as they can fit in their tiny basement room, to help legitimize their insane rantings.
It's not working. They still look like America-hating moonbats.
Conyers just said that people are waiting for them to get down to the White House!
We expect to release new documents that corroborate the Downing Street memo," a Judiciary aide, speaking on condition of anonymity, told RAW STORY Thursday afternoon. "None of the documents are as earth-shattering as the Downing Street minutes but all of them corroborate the accuracy of what it says.
Among those scheduled to testify are Joe Wilson, former ambassador and weapons of mass destruction expert; Ray McGovern, a 27-year CIA analyst, used to do presidential daily briefings for Ronald Reagan; Cindy Sheehan, a mother who lost her son in Iraq combat; and John Bonifaz, the Boston constitutional lawyer who has called for a resolution of inquiry into what he sees as impeachable offenses in the president's false pretenses for war.
The Democratic Judiciary staffer said the overwhelming online response to Conyers' push on the Downing Minutes has further proven that pressure on issues can be built outside the mainstream press.
We learned a lesson from the Ohio election investigation that frankly a lot of people on Capitol Hill havent learned, is that you cant rely on mainstream media to be your validation as to whether youre doing the right thing," the aide quipped. "When you talk straight to the people, if youre doing the right thing, theyll let you know."
So much politics in this town is people putting out press releases, waiting to see if the press covers it, and if the press doesnt cover it, then they move on, the aide added.
Others are also expected to speak at the hearings. The aide said that other Democrats have expressed interest, including Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Jim McDermott (D-WA) and John Lewis (D-GA).
I better make a phone call, to see how many moonbatz are down there...
We expect to release new documents that corroborate the Downing Street memo,"
Well, gosh, is the claim that Bush "fixed" intelligence anything new?
This memo revived the Bush lied meme.

Say, wasn't that last guy the father of the boy held hostage who wasn't in the military?
ADL smackdown on Durbin:
ADL to Senator Durbin: Inappropriate Comparison to Nazi Tactics Unacceptable
New York, NY, June 16, 2005 ... The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today called on Senator Richard J. Durbin (D-IL) to repudiate his remarks and apologize to the American people for distorting an important issue, with an inappropriate comparison to Nazi tactics.
In a speech on the Senate floor on June 14th on the situation at Guantanamo Bay he likened American treatment of prisoners to what "must have been done by Nazis... that had no concern for human beings."
Following is the text of the letter:
Dear Senator Durbin:
We write to object to your reference to Nazis in the context of the debate on detainees at Guantanamo Bay on the Senate floor earlier this week.
Whatever your views on the treatment of detainees and alleged excesses at the Guantanamo Bay facility, it is inappropriate and insensitive to suggest that actions by American troops in any way resemble actions taken by Nazis in their treatment of prisoners. Suggesting some kind of equivalence between their interrogation tactics demonstrates a profound lack of understanding about the horrors that Hitler and his regime actually perpetrated.
We urge you to repudiate your remarks and apologize to the American people for distorting an important issue with an inappropriate comparison to Nazi tactics. However heated the debate over issues of the day, we would urge you to refrain from using Holocaust imagery in the future.

Well, since it doesn't say much of anything, I'd say the President of the United States doesn't have a whole lot to worry about from this bunch of loons.
Conyers is also posting messages on the DAILY KOS!!!

This guy is a rock star.
Left Blogistan MUST coalesce behind Congressman Conyers right now.
We MUST continue to force the mainstream media to cover this issue.
Its going to be hard, because doing so will mean, as Billmon pointed out, that they will have to eat some crow. And no one likes doing that.
But the slate is clean. Who cares, anymore, whether a newspaper or a television show or a blog covered this story the past. What matters from here on forward is how those media outlets are going to cover this new story today, tomorrow, and the day after that.
We cant this moment pass.
Eight Freepers vs. approximately two hundred moonbatz now at Lafayette Park.
More in a few minutes....
"You know, this is beginning to look more and more like a Joe Wilson production, of and for Joe; it looks like a vendetta to me."
Vendetta, true. The Saudi/French oil money against the war should not be around anymore, so what else could be fueling it?
You are kidding?
He has 122 members of Congress calling for this impeachment?
Better not be any of MY representatives.
I don't know how many times I've read in the DUmp that it is almost a million signatures. So now it really is 560,000.
They gonna marching over but not to the White House
This "hearing" to be re-aired Friday night at 8pm on CSPAN-2.
These are all the people who were working together before the war, aren't they? All dressed up with nowhere to go, so they're going to try to impeach George W. Bush?
******
They are lying because I got a email from Moveon.org that they NEEDED to get 400,000 signatures not that they had 300,000! If they didn't lie they couldn't open their mouths.
There are a number of Dems that do
