We’ve also been getting e-mails with interesting stories. You may have noted that we don’t/rarely speculate. We try to report only actual events and if we post unconfirmed facts, we try to do so when the reports are at least 99.9% certain and in those cases we inform also that the information has not been confirmed. We don't dedicate attention to the, in some cases very interesting, (conspiracy) theories out there because this is simply not our objective here on Hasibokos.com. Also we don' t think that speculating'on this case is going to help solve anything. We’ve been hearing so much stories: Sex trade (to South America), insurance fraud (family to receive 5 million on her dead), murdered, raped (then), buried (alive), drowned, disappeared willingly to start new life)..and so forth …The only story we’ve have not heard (yet) is that Natalee Holloway has been abducted by aliens. This is why we try to stick to the facts, because if we start speculating, there will be no end in sight

A growing theory in the news media (unreported) is that Steve is being held on obstruction of justice charges or the equivilent.
It is possible that the parents may be defending themselves at this point from similar charges.
