UPI Hears..(Former Bush Admin Economist Says Official Story of WTC Collapse 'Bogus'...)
UPI via Drudge ^ | June 13, 2005 | John Daly

Posted on 06/15/2005 6:56:27 AM PDT by blogblogginaway

A former Bush team member during his first administration is now voicing serious doubts about the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9-11. Former chief economist for the Department of Labor during President George W. Bush's first term Morgan Reynolds comments that the official story about the collapse of the WTC is "bogus" and that it is more likely that a controlled demolition destroyed the Twin Towers and adjacent Building No. 7. Reynolds, who also served as director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas and is now professor emeritus at Texas A&M University said, "If demolition destroyed three steel skyscrapers at the World Trade Center on 9/11, then the case for an 'inside job' and a government attack on America would be compelling."

But of course an "economist" is qualified to speak in matters such as demolitions. :-)

His statements were made from his room at Bellevue? This guy is a nut, but all the leftwing nuts like Howard Dean, DUers and the MSM will be all over this.

Maybe he's a brilliant economist - I don't know. But his credentials as a structural engineer are NOT widely recognized.

See, I'm not a structural engineer or an economist, but I stupidly believe that the buildings fell because, um, two PLANES flew into them. Maybe this jerk hasn't seen the footage.

I took a year of Economic Science (mandatory) on my way to my Engineering degree.

They have a lot of gall calling it a science.

WTF! What is this guy smoking? My husband was working on the tarmac of Newark Airport that morning & saw the planes hit the towers. How does this jerk explain thousands of eyewitness accounts?

that it is more likely that a controlled demolition destroyed the Twin Towers and adjacent Building No. 7.

Uh, yeah, sure. A controlled demolition was more likely. It's more likely that no one noticed all those wires and all that drilling and placement of charges. It's more likely that the controlled demolition started on the very floors where the planes impacted, and that the charges and wires on those floors survived the impact and fire in perfect working order. And it's more likely that none of the crews removing the debris afterwards noticed any wires or beams blown apart by explosive charges.

A hint to Mr. Reynolds - for a conspiracy theory to be believable, it needs to make more sense than the official version.

Stick to economics, Mr. Reynolds. Although if you're dense enough to believe that the WTC was more likely brought down by controlled demolition, Lord knows what kind of crappy advice you gave the Administration during your tenure as chief economist of the Labor Department.

See how well it was played out and coordinated? They even started to collapse right where the planes had hit - and they went so far as to have the one that had more weight above where the plane hit to collapse first to make it more convincing it was those planes that actually caused it. Brilliant, wasn't it?

All economists are demolition experts.

There's no way this guy is a disgruntled ex-employee, he's got to be telling the truth.

I understand that the guy who used to deliver Popeye's chicken to the governor's mansion in TX during W's tenure is also backing up this guy's claims.

This guy wins the award for Dumbest Jerk of the Year. His lack of technical expertise is only exceeded by his lack of common sense.

On 9/11 I predicted to my family, as we were watching the horror unfold, that the buildings would collapse many minutes before they did. It was not surprising given the location of the airplane crash and fire, and the tremndous weight of the floors above all supported by a metal structure easily weakened by the fire.

"his room at Bellevue? "

I'm not sure what Bellevue is.

Do you mean the Rusk State Hospital in Rusk, Texas?

Economically explained, the planes crashing into the buildings causing a supply shock reducing the aggregate demand for structural support, while the aggregate demand (weight of the building) remained the same. After the aggregate supply curve shifted downward, the system came to a new equilibrium condition, i.e. collapsed on the ground.

Yeah, sure Morgan. Those were bogus terrorists, who hijacked bogus airliners, who knifed and murdered bogus Americans, took over the bogus cockpits, and flew their bogus jihad into the WTC and Hell, let's say the Pentagon too. It was all bogus. The only real thing about 9/11 were the munitions trucked in for the controlled demolition.

Hey, you gonna pass that bong full of bogus around or not?

Ya greedy bastard.

Another example of why ALL the Clinton holdovers in every position should have been jettisoned immediately!

Well, if Clinton had been President during 9/11, a whole lot of Freepers would be taking this guy's word as gospel. ;)
