Unlike CA and FL, TX does not have any mechanism in place to halt the inexorable rise in property taxes when home values rise.

What you want is a homestead exemption that caps property tax increases permanently as long as you live there.

Like Florida.

Fl has the "save our homes' cap that limits property tax increases to 3.5% max per year, provided you qualify for the homestead exemption.
