I received an email last night from someone else who watched the Factor who said "The SMC Republicans were certainly placed in a positive light"

MensRightsActivist, did you watch the whole thing end to end? I want to find out for sure how they showed us before we write O'Reilly a letter of either thanks or indignation. Anyone else see the Factor on 6/15/05 ?

I watched it again, and this is in addition to comments, etc. already noted in a previous post. At the very beginning, it showed Randy Lawson introducing the Gov. and a number of faculty standing to applaud (one or two second shot), then it cut immediately to the protesters and interspersed protesters throughout Orielly's interview with Karen Breslau, San Francisco Bureau Cheif from Newsweek. He discussed the event with her. They discussed some of the politics and the upcoming special election. They talked about the reasoning for the special election and what the special election was about. "So it's a fiscal issue," Oreilly said. "A partisan issue," Breslau retorted. "You bet it is," replied Oreilly.

The whole segment was one of those teaser segments that they advertised at spots during the whole show, but it actually aired in the final 10 minutes of the show. The only parts I saw that even showed "somewhat of a positive side" was when Fran was shown applauding (one or two second shot), and the intro by Randy, and one other shot on stage. As I mentioned the shot with Fran had a camera pan that showed protestors with backs turned and signs for more time than it showed Fran applauding. The opening shot of protestors that ran after Randy's intro ran about 15 seconds by my count. Breslau at one point said, "It looked like the extras had taken over the set." They did show one other stage shot with Arnold speaking. I saw Tom Donner, SMC Acting President, applauding. That one or two seconds was mostly supportive visually, but you could hear the disruptive noise from the crowd. They showed a few seconds clip of Arnold in another venue smiling and pleasant, and that was positive. The coverage of the event was all quick camera work and editing, but the protestors as shown on Orielly, IMO, came across as an unruly, disruptive force of large proportions.
