At this point - if they do not rebuild the towers to something BIGGER & BETTER. Then what they will end up placing there will be nothing than a lasting memorial to the terrorists on how much they have won.

This is America dammit - REBUILD THE TOWERS!!!

Port Authority of NY and NJ own the property.

And to just whom are they answerable?

I have always assumed that the Port Authority of New York, was a quasi-public entity, created to serve the shipping lines, both ours and those from overseas. That it was not directly controlled by the Leftwing voters, responsible for some of the political aberrations, New Yorkers send to Congress or City Hall.

Is there some element of control in the shipping industry, or is it all some publicly appointed Board, answerable to the ethnic block politicians, who might be feeding off this weird proposal? I don't know why, again, but I always assumed it to be a more Conservative entity.

On the other hand, why would even the most "Liberal"--aside, of course, from out and out Communists--want to stir up hatred among minority groups--which is precisely what this complex of weird displays will do?
