I totally agree. It's time for both of them to step down.

Nothing like a sport full of Canadians and Euros where you can't even see the friggin' ball. I can't imagine why they are having problems!

Yet this also is inescapable: For the good of the NHL, the game and even of Bettman himself, the commissioner should step down once a new collective bargaining agreement is signed.

Why wait? Now seems like a good time.

By the way, here's my idea to revolutionize the sport! I got the idea when I discovered goalies get to have a beverage on the ice with them. I thought, why stop there? Why not also have snacks? Then it hit me! What if you got one of those super immense fat guys to be your goalie? Just lay him down in front of the goal! What's the goal size? 4 x6? Imagine this guy laid on his side:

You feelin me?

I agree too. I never really liked Bettman and I can't really say anything nice about Goodenow.

On a side note, we may actually see an agreement very soon. Maybe within the next week but definitely before the end of the month.

BTW... Please add me to you Hockey ping list.

I never liked Bettman, and he was a disaster for the sport.

Bettman(a democrat BTW) needs to go back to the NBA, and Goodenow needs to go as well.

I hope when the NHL resumes play, they'll get rid of all that fru-fru pansy skating and just keep the fights! They can flail away at each other with those sticks and establish a Japanese kendo atomoshere. Then, the survivors can drop their sticks and masks and go at it with fists only, they should have brass knuckles so they can do some damage. There are so many things they can do to make this a bearable game!! But, what's this about a strike? Haven't they been on TV these past 5 or 10 years?

Of course, that raises the question of whether franchises whose payroll costs will be drastically cut will roll back ticket prices – and roll them back significantly, not just with slight and mostly cosmetic markdowns.

Nope, I'm sure the four-hundred-odd people who still want to go to the UC to see the Clippers, er, Blackhawks will still have to hand a couple C-notes to good ol' Dollar Bill.
