I know anyone who can push a stylus can vote in this country, but almost everyone can manage to avoid jury duty. People are thrown off for being too smart or having any familial connections to the law. And the ones who can't get out of jury duty or don't want to are the exact people who worship celebrities.
If Michael Jackson were not famous [even uber-famous], this exact jury would have convicted him of molestation and the alcohol charge, I am 100% certain.

Did any reporter ask any of the jurors if they would allow MJ to have a sleep over with their children? I think that q would have been an eye opener.

They are truly proud of themselves. At least we now know why they didn't convict Michael. They didn't like the boys Mother?
Not one person on that Jury made a lick of sense.

I'm thinking you're right.

So now it's considered "justice" to be financially ruined by a prosecution that results in a not guilty verdict? Here is the point that is in question. Was there not enough evidence in this case to bring it to trial? Just because you have faith in this jury of "favorable" prosecution elements doesn't make the case that anyone who disagrees with you are reactionary.
But I damn sure am more confident in this jury--which was racially mixed and generally considered "favorable" to the prosecution--than I am in a bunch of people who treated the entire thing as a soap opera.
There are certainly people on this forum that were more concerned with justice than they were with soap opera. The demonstrable fact that MJ has a history of pedophile accusations and his freely admitted preference to sleeping with minors is damning enough to merit scrutiny. If we're to concern ourselves with financial repercussions then we need to consider the fact that it was self-inflicted by MJ in every instance. Neverland??

"It's not a stretch at all for me to believe he is, quite simply, child-like in a non-sexual way."
That's kind of like the thought I had earlier, that Jackson's weirdeness worked in his favor. He is so weird that I, too, can imagine him going to bed with boys and not touching them sexually. It doesn't sound good to say it, but NOT touching those boys is weirder than if he had touched them.
To: JeffAtlanta
Uh, maybe because Jackson is a predator and picks on poor kids from bad families that people would never believe?
Just a thought.
To: mikrofon
Probably. I mean after all, OJ was found not guilty because MF used the word nigger in a fictional novel he was writing.

One mother said that she wouldn't want to have her child lie to get something...at least, I think that's what the giggler said.

You have made similar and equally ridiculous comments to me previously. When someone disagrees with you, you become personal and that's unnecessary. So I take it you can't back up your blatant lie that I defended Michael Schiavo? If so, you surely would have posted it right here, right?
Just as I said, you're a liar.
To: Howlin
The jurors wanted a "smoking gun" and nothing less than even overwhelming circumstantial evidence. Aside from being in the room, Jackson could have never been found guilty with this jury.

The mother snapping the fingers at them obviously made them let a pedophile walk! That's not it at all. The mother was in-credible and made them not believe the charges were proved.
To: Howlin
There's no point in trying to have a civil discussion with you. You become insulting and personal. So I have nothing more to say to you.
Buh bye!
To: JCEccles
Prosecutors can't choose the victims. People come in, having been the victim of a crime, and MJ chooses dysfunctional familes carefully..
