Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton turned furious and considered legal action after learning bestselling author Ed Klein would allege in a new book: Bill Clinton raped her -- resulting in the conception of daughter Chelsea Clinton!
"[Author] Klein is going to rot in hell for this," a well-placed source close to Hillary said over the weekend.

"I'm going back to my cottage to rape my wife," Klein quotes Bill Clinton as saying during a Bermuda getaway in 1979.
In the morning, the Clintons' room "looked like World War III. There are pillows and busted-up furniture all over the place," an unnamed source tells Klein.
Klein source claims Bill later learned Hillary was pregnant reading about it in the ARKANSAS GAZETTE.
"The fact that his wife didn't tell him that she was pregnant before she told a reporter doesn't seem to phase him one bit, because he says, 'Do you know what night that happened?"
"'No,' I say. 'When?"
"'It was Bermuda,' he says, 'And you were there!'"

I am no fan of the Clintons. However, this kind of vitriol does the country no good, nor the politics of the country.

And that is a gross mischaracterization in order discredit someone calling for civility.
The claim is unsubstatiated. There is no hard proof. The only people who could give absolute verification are Bill and Hillary, do you think they'll oblige? The only one hurt in this is the Clinton family, notably Chelsea.
The die is cast with the Clintons. Those that love them, will disregard this. Those that hate them, it's just confirmation of what they believe, the Clintons are evil. It serves no purpose. Until we start treating politicians like anyone else, we'll get more crooks and dolts!
As to the "anti-American" nature of that claim... tell me where I'm wrong. Lobbies and soft money don't pay for your politicians? Your representatives act on the basis of conscience and common good, not political expediency? None of our politicians regard China in a favorable light due to large contributions? Your elected republican officals are cutting spending like any good republican would? Your elected republican officals are securing the southern border of this country to keep you safe?

Bottom line for me: if you cannot PROVE a charge that a man raped his wife to produce their child, if you make the charge it is slander per se, and you should lose, big time.
You do not make charges of rape if you cannot prove it.
And charging a man raped his wife, twenty-five years on, and that a child they both obviously love is the product of a rape...just to make a punching bag out of somebody...this is criminal.
It's disgusting.

And I want the Clintons to win the libel charge.
The woman (I cannot remember her name) who charged Clinton raped her - she may well be telling the truth. So focus on that.
But this? This is just revolting. Throw the guy who made the charge to the wolves.
I agree. I am NOT interested in the Clinton's s-x life. They are a married couple and that is between them. It does matter to me if Bill raped other women with Hillary aiding and abetting the cover-up.
Hillary has enough to be researched and used without this. I think this could backfire bigtime. Dems always accuse Repubs of being too interested in what goes on in the privacy of the bedroom. I don't care what Bill and Hillary do to/with each other behind closed doors. I am only onterested in what they have done to others, FBI files, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broderick, etc.
Authors and publishers are not stupid, and these books are reviewed extensively by high-caliber legal teams to ensure that exposure to slander/libel lawsuits is minimized.
When was the last time you heard of a top-selling book in the U.S. facing a successful libel lawsuit?
No sympathy for Hillary from me, but Poor Chelsea! I can't imagine how hurtful this speculation must be to her and how she must hate those who indulge in it.
I completely agree with your whole argument...except, it's not "us" or "we" who have produced this book.
It is very difficult for a husband to rape a wife. And how would anyone but the couple know about it. This stuff has nothing to do with any "right wing conspiracy" but it shows how, to Hillary, everything is politics.
By now she has to be pretty hardened and see the benefits of victimhood. In fact, she's probably due for a Senate seat of her own.
The broken furniture probably came for one of their famous no-holds-barred fights.

This falls into the catagory of the best place to hide something is in plain site. By having a lot of false outrageous stories out there, when a true one pops up, no one belives it.
This story may or may not be true, but I will need more proof then an off the wall quote. Do you think Bill would mind signing a sworn avadavit?
In orther words, do not be so quick to whoop it up when someone reports something negative about the Clintos, they are playing us like a two dollar fiddle.

I presume that Klein only recounts what Bill Clinton allegedly said to Klein's source - if there's any slander, then Klein isn't the slanderer. Furthermore, an assault would be consistent with past allegations from other females, allegations they have never withdrawn.
I'm looking forward to observing the fall-out of this book, but claims that Clinton raped Hillary borders on gossip, slander, and sensationalism to the point of discrediting the validity of the book.
Is it possible that Klein's book is a farce manufactured by Hillary Clinton's camp to discredit any sources a la the Swiftboat Vets' book?
