VA Voc Rehab assistance, misirable useless college. 2 bloody classes left for my 2nd degree and I am just pissing away money and marking time with scumbag academic morons.
that's how I really feel.
TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: fraud; help
I need some assistance with a problem that I have, and I need direction (I failed land Nav) I signed up for a class that started 1 May under Voc Rehab Chapter 31, every thing was moving along (kind of) then long about 10 May the instructor drops off the face of the earth (an online class) No response to email, discussion, nothing a couple of chat sessions that assisted nobody but nothing else. I called and complained to the Asst Dean (sorry waste of time) he took the head-in-the-sand approach, so I being the kind genteel person that I am wrote the Dept of Education, office of the IG Waste, Fraud & Abuse section and ccd the VA (all my dealings / emails). Can anyone think of some thing else that I should be doing, with this. I wont mention the colleges name in Albany NY, but its initials are Excelsior.
Thanks V/R Sere_Doc

ARe you in contact with your Voc Rehab Rep? THe first person I contact is them, they are supposed to be your goto person when a problem arises. If they wont responf go straight down to your VA regional and do a walk in with Voc Rehab.

I know, it takes a lot of time to get any answers out of Excelsior, although I finally managed to complete my one course and finish out my degree with them.
Have you been to the forum http://forums.degreeinfo.com ? A lot of people there have beefs with Excelsior, you might be able to find some with similar situations.

Contact both of your U.S sentors as well as your state senator. Also contact your U.S. and state representative.I'd even call the FBI. Give the White House an e-mail as well.

Talk to your VA rep. I know you are in a hurry to graduate like I was, but the VA won't hold it against you for something like this. Is the course a requirement, or just an elective? In other words, can you take another course this summer that will fill the requirement? I would start looking into that as well.

I have kept him apprised with all my emails to Excelsior and their responses. This is my second BS degree I have >332 credit hours (most in IT) Bachelors level and I am in a masters program as well (I know there are a bunch of my old teachers wailing and gnashing their teeth with the thought of ME that wasn't a, shall we say a stellar citizen throughout my formative years. Thanks for the help.

1) take a deep breath, relax
2) Tranfer credits to University of Richmond (they take one for one) and has better name recognition than the old Regents College.....all on-line classes can suffer from this.
3) Enjoy your job hunting, it can be stressful, but persitance can be the key.
