So you think a boat might save you? ROFL!!
Well.....not REALLY. BUT! If it all falls off into the ocean, all around my (it appears) good earth....I'll need to go from Point A to Point B and since there won't be any roads......
That leaves me and the boat! :)
"Now she's in NC. Wait 'til she gets a taste of the hurricanes!"
We'll take care of her (smile). She'll be standing outside watching in no time.
I never had a problem discerning between "rollers" and "shakers". I thought they were different types of quakes, not an indication of distance from the epicenter.
Over a period of ten years ('85 -> '95) I lived first near downtown O'side, then southeast O'side off Melrose south of the Vista courthose, and finally in downtown Carlsbad.
Did you happen to notice that they quietly regraded the earthquake yesterday from a 5.6 to a 5.2?
5.2 2005/06/12 15:41:46 33.533 -116.578 14.1 9 km ( 6 mi) ESE of Anza, CA
Wow, dude, you banged your 83-year old grandfather during an earthquake.
Even guys that aren't gentlemen should NEVER EVER tell a story like that.
(LOL! Might wanna proofread your posts a little more carefully next time...had to re-read yours a couple times before my horror subsided!!!)
oops, they took the one in N Cal off...maybe it was a sonic boom or something.
Later, at daughter's house, found some glassware broken, dishes disarrayed, medicine casbinet dumped into sink. No really serious damage.
Epicenter reported to be about 6 mi. east of us. Later reports said 5.6 Richter.
By afternoon, four different TV stations had remote trucks parked in the lot at the local market. Must have been a slow news day if that's all they had to carry.
