Loud shake and rumbling this morning...
Just checked... carnival goes til 10 pm according to the flyer.
Now it's my turn: I don't have a personal reference for northeastern climate, so you're educating me.
It's so funny: We get to become acquainted with each other without having any real empathetic knowledge of each other's environment.
Strange phenomenon about Seattle, though...it can be pouring rain outside and I can have static electricity inside! Don't mean to sound "woo-woo," but it's really true.
I grew up on the east coast and never saw one.
The only thing I don't miss is the humidity. It's intolerable. You sweat at night even when you're alone...
I miss the restaurants. I miss the real, true seasons. I miss the history of the places, Boston, etc. Cape Cod on a beautiful summer evening. The lightning bugs.
But Seattle has it's good points.

I understand what you're saying.....but you're still limited by a human interpretation of what really happened.
When he created grass on the third day, why couldn't that representative "day" be the time necessary for grass to evolve?
It's a much more peaceful existence (at least for me) to recognize proven science, and recognize as well that God had His hand in all of it......
Where abouts did you live? Of course, the answer to your point will always be: As long as it happens in the next county over, I don't really care how big it is!

I agree FRiend. And would not pretend to understand but a few of Gods ways at most. Its an interesting thought huh? although I had read Genesis many times that never dawned on me.
But as far as "proven" science I do not put a whole lot of stock in it, the world was once flat according to them.

I know what you mean about the seasons...I am thrilled at our once-a-year snowfall!!
But my philosophy is that you can always rent weather here...when I was in SF, I could always go to Tahoe...here...I can get up in the mountains.
You are right...the one thing that is really awful is humidity! Outsiders might not realize it...but we have very little of the standard "Midwest/East/South" kind of humidity here...when it's raining, it's usually cool temps.

That is true.......
I guess a more accurate statment would be: Regardless of what science dicovers over the years, etc.......
Are they on Seaview Place? I have a good friend who lives on that street. I live about 2 miles west of there, and we felt a good shaking at our house. The windows rattled loudly and the chandelier swayed a bit. I live on a hillside and maybe that caused us to feel it more. Your friends would have felt similar shaking, probably.

Wow, currently at number two on their top ten list and it easily could hop to number one most reported 'did you feel it' earthquake.
I was watching the numbers start to come in and I was absolutely amazed at how many people filled out the forms in different areas and how quickly. I've always felt that knowing about that site was pretty much limited to the geekier side of humanity, but 22,000+ reports puts it much more mainstream than I imagined.
Hmm that is close to where my daughter and family go to church I believe....on Glendora Ave. not far from Arrow Hwy. There are a group of homes in that area that really REALLY decorate their lawns and houses at Christmas time.

We had a shaker (sleeper) a few weeks ago. Loihi at the bottom of the sea. But it shook the SE rift zone. No damage.
