(Try to bring HIM!)

I tried, and he just said to tell you "him is up to his ass in chores." Oh well, just have plenty of men on hand. I'll teach him...lol.

...had to get up to go open our store on Arrow Hwy anyway. Time to go sell the Indians (and others) some beads and turquoise.

Hey, I've seen that place! I'm right down the street off Glendora Ave. I'll have to stop in and see you some time (and maybe buy some beads - not much for turquoise). Not today, though. Taking the kids to the carnival at St. Louise's....

Have a good one...

I am not disagreeing with you, neither am I saying anything to shake your faith.

But I have pulled pieces of petrified roots out from the sedimentary layers at an elevation of about 5,000 feet in the southern cascades. I KNOW they are more than ten million years old.

Wow.....it must be a lot of pressure, understanding everything about God's timeline as it relates to geology......

One cat on top of the swamp cooler, another on top of the patio table.

LOL!!! I had to Google to find out what a "swamp cooler" was! I had never heard of such a thing!

"pressure"

What pressure ..?? All you have to do is read what the Bible says. I've read it and I believe it. It was my choice. You also have the choice of not believing it. I guess we'll find out who was right .. right ..??

Hope to make it over to the carnival too, but the store doesn't close until five so I think I'm out of luck. Have a great time though!

Oh, I definitely believe that animals can somehow sense quakes in advance.

I was "in" the Loma Preta Quake (7.2), and one of the things I'll never forget was seeing animals react *during* the quake.

Pigeons were circling and circling because they couldn't find anywhere stable to land. And some black cat was scooting all over the place in a panic.

I was on the 16th hole, just finished putting when it hit in Indio,..this is the first time I didn't feel safe outside. One could tell the entire area has been built on sand and it didn;t feel too stable as in liquifaction.

Not at all. But I am far more inclined to believe if there is some sort of major life threatening event, it won't be so much that it's Gods Wrath, so much as mans stupidity and greed.

I'd never own a trailer either. My farm is in central SD (part of tornado alley) and I've seen WAY too much damage from summer storms to trailers to live in one. Also, there is rarely a basement to go to in case of Tornado.

I'm just saying - since carbon dating has proven things to be much older than what a man's limited understanding (i.e. inability to understand beyond a literal translation) of things to be.....

....why would it be so much of a stretch to think that the proverbial 7 days were actualy millions upon millions of years?

And in that same regard - how would it be so much of a stretch to think that the time left (which isn't specifically defined in the Bible, to the best of my knowledge) might actually be 10 million years, or more?

After all, we're talking God Time here. And I don't profess to understand it fully, by any means.

And I ddn't mean it to be an attack persay on your beliefs. You just seemed a little pretentious about it.

God Time is, after all, more distant from our reference than cubits.

They wouldn't do much good in Chicago, temps in the 90's and even higher humdiditty.

They work great in desert climates though.

Felt it here in North County - pretty big one too...

I used to live in North County. One of life's great mysteries I was never able to solve is whether it's a little quake nearby or a big one further away.

why would it be so much of a stretch to think that the proverbial 7 days were actualy millions upon millions of years?

Because the grass created on the the 3rd day would die without sunshine for a long period. But notice that the sun was created on the 4th day, thus sustaining the plant life.

11Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. 12And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13So the evening and the morning were the third day.

14Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. 16Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19So the evening and the morning were the fourth day

I recently read this view and it made sense to me.
