What's illegal about carrying a copy of the Declaration of Independence and a Bible onto an airplane? Is there more to the story? Did he not have a ticket?

It appears to this reader that he had no intention of really boarding a plane, as he just wanted to make a statement by not tolerating the airport screening process - somehow the bible and declaration of independence were 'props' for him to hold up or quote from.

I imagine he had a ticket or, at least from my experience, you can get to the screeners without them.
