Deep Throat's Daughter, The Kindred Free Spirit
Washington Post ^ | 6/12/2005 | Lynne Duke

Posted on 06/12/2005 12:02:02 AM PDT by red state girl

W. Mark Felt and Joan Felt are like many fathers and daughters. Their roles have been reversed by time. The 61-year-old daughter now takes care of the 91-year-old father as his health falters, his twilight deepens.

......

One can easily imagine each being embarrassed by the other, so different were they then. The establishment father. The hippie daughter. And even more striking contrasts have emerged since Joan Felt became a public figure through her father's unmasking.

But who is Joan Felt? And where was she while her father was skulking in a Rosslyn parking garage confirming hunches about the Watergate scandal? Much remains unknown about this woman who has been catapulted into the national limelight at the center of the most riveting of political mysteries.

Some of what is known adds to the mystery: Joan Felt is a devotee of an unusual and controversial self-proclaimed guru who, in two California lawsuits and several public statements 20 years ago, was accused of sexual abuse, slavery, false imprisonment, assault and brainwashing that was said to include persuading people to give him all their money.

Asked about the guru today, Joan Felt says, "None of this has anything to do with the Deep Throat story." She won't talk about the guru's group, known as Adidam as well as the Johannic Daist Communion. Nor would she discuss the length and scope of her role within it. Earlier this month, when asked about it in a brief encounter outside her house, she said Adidam was like Buddhism.

Her name and home phone number are listed on the Internet as a contact for an Adidam Study Group in Santa Rosa, Calif., where she lives with her father and sons.....

The Knee of Listening
The Spiritual autobiography of Adi Da Samraj is now available in a greatly expanded third edition, including the secrets of His "Pre-History" (before His birth in 1939.)

I'm just digging one of his aliases: "Bubba Free John". Sounds like something out of a Ron White routine.

One thing we know about her:if her old man succeeds in cashing in on his heroic acts of yesteryear, she will,in the not too distant future, win the lottery..largely thanks to Mr Bush's reduction of the death tax rates!

.. I was there.. I saw this type of brainwashing occurring under the "platform" of many different sayings: "total honesty movement".. "Be Here Now".. "Inner Voice".. it was awful. It was billed as "trendy" and "consciousness raising". Modern psychology and therapy went to hell in a handbasket real quick in No. CA. Families went to hell, too. CA. Dittos, Education. Big time.

Not to say there wasn't "good things" alongside the bad. I loved the open markets -- rising new boutiques and industries. My parents, kids of the depression, were natural recyclers, so I was glad to see "recycling" -- and making use of what one has or is responsible for -- get more attention. However,

Jimmie Jones and the Temple was already rising in California....

It really was like a nuclear "culture" bomb unleashed upon the San Francisco Bay Area... I have imprints from the blast, even yet... Anger and Tears -- I saw a lot of this. The rise in drug use, political activism (liberal).. The Jesus Freak Movement.. "Coming Out of the Closet Movement"...Natural Fibers... communes.. guitar playing anywhere.. Music Everywhere.. nudity.. communal hot tubbing.. lentil soup.. "Save the Earth"..family therapy.. the horrid abuse and mistreatment of anyone who wasn't "into the scene". The shouting of "MCP!" at any man who dared voice anything but abject surrendered support of the feminist movement... and everything it demanded..

And of all it burst wide open upon the heels of Watergate. the "TOTAL HONESTY MOVEMENT" landed, and seized a culture... an area of the country....

I was travelling a great deal not long after these movements had "seized control", and yes, at times it just wasn't funny anymore when I'd respond to those in other states, that "I was from California".. and hearing the comments about "land of fruits and nuts". How to explain what had happened?

It was as if a whole bunch of locusts had landed and began chewing up the countryside and towns and cities... And March? They did. And rang "bells and smells." And did all kinds of invitations. Sex therapy. Sex toys alongside drug paraphenalia stores. All done in the name of "wholeness" "centeredness" "back to nature".

And bosses, who were into these movements, had ways of "punishing you" employment-wise, if you didn't attend one of their little "off-hours invitations to their "new groups of belonging".

Newer forms of "communications" training became part of OJT -- employing and adapting many of the new "isms" into their workplace. As a means of either staving off "discriminatory lawsuits" or the bosses themselves were involved with these new movements and, again, had ways of "punishing" those who didn't follow "private orders".

If you were into largesse of government, then you'd side with the movement. If you wanted to keep your job, you had to play along. Speak up? At first, it was just heavy "condemnation" you got. Then came the "sensitivity" one-on-one sessions with "departments" which used to be called "Personnel" in most companies but what "evolved" into "Human Resources" departments. "Counseling" statements could be mocked up and used against you in re employment.

Judge Rose Byrd. The Chicago Five murdering a Judge. Angela Davis. Black Panther Movement.

Meanwhile, Hollywood kept playing up "Coming To a Town Near You!" in support of this type of culture takeover. And I watched it spread to other statesIn No CA -- UNIONS (first it was the "peoples workers union".. which grew to "non-marriage "unions" ("I, any certified (insert name), now pronounce you two seperate persons under the Cosmos." Then to communal "units of unity under the cosmos". Meaning, open marriages, multiple partners, "agism" need not be a factor.. children, teens, elderly -- all invited to "partake" of the "cosmos unit". I stop there.

Then "gay unions". "Dog and Partner Unions".

But then, most all of you in this forum have seen what "UNIONS" (all forms, Educational Educations, Pension Unions) have done in your states. Real good, huh?

You've already seen what Teachers Unions ... "do".

President Nixon had opened the very first talks, ever, with China. But it didn't matter. All of the above landed ("went down") within a relatively few, but very well organized few short years on the heels of Watergate. I had seen the "land and area" prepared. I saw it land. I saw the fall-out.

Deep Throat and his daughter living in N.CA? Oh my, what a surprise.....

Addendum: The whole culture attack was "sold" to the area as "Building the Circle". Liberal Movements in the area now call it "Completing the Circle". Coming full circle.

Most "free" rock concerts then always sang "Will This Circle Be UnBroken..."

'nuff said? I say let's go for the "nuclear option". :) What goes around, comes around.

I'd be remiss if I didn't provide a specific linguistic item here.

Those of my friends who lived and survived the abuses that went on in "communes" in Northern CA, who of the libertarian bent, pronounce a specific word (they all do) a certain way.

The word "F**K".

It is pronounced "FO*K". Rhymes with wok.

When the movie "Meet the Fockers" came out -- my pals were livid and furious with Hollywood aiding and abetting the Anti-American Movements.

Now, with Part II, out. They're boycotting films out of Hollywood except those approved by specific people.

*Meet the F*ckers." Premise: Daughter of former intelligence handling guy is marrying into mucho liberal family. See how great they get along. Takes place on East Coast.. but the real truth is, the closer reality is that.. Felt and His Daughter are simply "completing the circle". Wonder how sales and attendance of these films were in the "heartland" and on east coast?

And pre-break news of Oliver Stone.. dui, drugs.. lol. I mean, sorry on "him". right?

Preposterous! Says the left and those who don't know CA language, linguistics, and the ways and means of liberals.

The first "fockers" film came out.. when? And when did the whispering of deals and new deals begin, I wonder..

It is amazing you are still sane. Bless you for enduring all of that.

I am at peace knowing that Christ said he was "the truth, the life, and the way." (John 4:16). I suppose if you reject God, you grasp at any straw.

"Stephen.. (dang.. what's his name: memory not awake yet)"

Gaskin....he was actually kind of a good guy ,ended up getting alot of people out of the City and moved out to Tennessee , where they settled down alot and became quite useful individuals....the SF-effect was very detrimental then , and still is....

No, not *that* Stephen. But I do still have Ina Mae Gaskin's "Spiritual Midwifery", 1977, Printed on the Farm. ;)

My brain keeps registering "EST", and because a number of EST graduates (and TM [Transcendental Meditation] practioners) I knew were massively talking up this one particular event.. mm. Michael Wornum. Maybe. Not Stephen.

Thank you for your kindly response. :) I'm thankful to my parents for trying hard to raise me right. And yes, that includes a solid religious upbringing. And when my church "altered" (morphed with the new culture "warriors") my parents stood their ground, and then ultimately quit attendence, explaining clearly why they did so.

On the good side, they were upfront, and they were clear. On the downside, as churches fell, and were destroyed from within and without -- a whole generation of children and teenagers were left open to predators from within and without many different faiths and churches.

Growing cultism, in the SF Bay Area sprouted with almost as much speed as Chlamydia.
