London's terrorist attack sent these messages to the modern world:
1. The working class will be terrorized - it's not necessary to target leadership and doing so is simply a bonus.
2. Britain's intelligence service is the best in the world - terrorists easily circumvented it as it will U.S intelligence services. Our successes in thwarting terrorist's plans are token and our horn-tooting, self-glorification, and pride will be our end, a principal understood by the terrorists but not the Western.
3. Like pressing on a balloon, when security pressure is concentrated in certain areas, terrorists will focus on others - softer ones. If downtown metropolitan areas are too difficult too target, expect suburbs to be targets. Casualty numbers are less important to the terrorists than we think. Their strategy lies in surprise and fear upon which commerce is wounded - thus nations are wounded. Terrorism is likely to succeed by economic intimidation more than actual infrastructural damage and bodily harm. The colorful levels of alerts issued by Homeland Security are simply "feel-good" measures for public consumption but ineffectual against terrorism.
4. Terrorists will far exceed 911 damage by concentrating on softer targets, malls, subways, buses, restaurants, etc...Just ask Israel. The only periods of peace Israel enjoys are at their enemies' discretion. When terrorists desire to attack the public, they simply do so. By coordination, one day's multiple and simultaneous attacks on softer targets can easily exceed 911 casualties. In the terrorists' mind, the London attack was a prototype for a new strategy - an impossible one to protect against without shutting down public commerce.
Empirical facts ...
1. Islamic extremists are painted to be haters of the West. Actually, America and the West are hated by Islam in general. Western Christianity is reduced to nearly a political party, a heathen one at that. Islam can't tolerate hypocrisy and what they see in us as flagrant blasphemy against God through materialism, entertainment, feminism, gluttony and other over-indulgences. Our Christianity is mediocre and incurs Islamic contempt. Islam sees Christians' true god to be their kids, jobs, houses, cars, and overall lifestyles - everything but God.
2. U.S. and world policy to address terrorism is a combination of military and political muscle - both will run their course at great expense and fail. Contrary to our insistence that "it's not a religious thing," it is. America's god is on its lips and far from its heart. Muslims see this clearly and despise it. Historically, God used one's enemies to effectuate His will and is doing so now.
3. Those predicting America's doom will be investigated and eventually incur the wrath of their government. First Amendment free speech rights will be subjugated under the guise of "national security" The government will then, in an almost compassionate way, sell the public on the idea that anti--government rhetoric in predicting its doom stems from psychologically imbalanced persons who must be incarcerated for the good of everyone.
4. Just as in WWII, the church will cowardly agree with the government, cajol with intellectuals and professionals, i.e., psychologists, lawyers, and government elitists, and denounce those politically incorrect and mentally-disturbed poor souls predicting America's downfall. The church will agree with secular views that, 'the world is getting better, peace will eventually reign through political efforts" and, Revelation is an interesting read but irrelovant in today' geopolitical concerns."
