I send my condolences to the family of Natalee Holloway.
Video of FOX News Alert: http://thepoliticalteen.net/2005/06/11/natalee-holloway-is-dead/
Containing information on the suspects.
You would think someone would have posted this already wouldn't you.
No mention on FOX that she is confirmed dead.....or that her body has been found.
Everyone is jumping the gun. As of 3:30 pm, no one seems to know what's going on.
Exactly. Authorities in Aruba have not confirmed anything, yet.
Fox, and PMSNBCABCCBECNNALJAZEERA are all jumping the gun just to be able to gloat that they were first by 6 seconds to report the story.
Sorry for being Eastern-time-zone centric. I should have said 3:30 EST.
They are all trying to be the 1st to break a story that may not even be confirmed yet. No one wants to be last with breaking news. Sad, the media is as perverted as the perverts they show us.
Late last night they reported that ther had been a confession and one of the perps would lead police to her body. This morning when I got they were reporting that there was no confession BUT they had arrested a 4th man. Next the 4th man was forgotten but they had found her body and now we appear to be back to where we were yesterday.
I hope the media doesn't do something to jepordize the investigation.
In Mtn Brook we are all awaiting news. It is sad for the entire community, my daughter was in the graduating class, did not go on the trip, but of course knew N H.
Would you care to enlighten us more about Natalee Holloway???...
..and may I ask, why did your daughter not go on the trip?
Welcome to Free Republic!
Well, if the Aruban authorities would be more open with everything the media wouldn't be reporting half truths. The one that I have learned from all of this is don't ever get into trouble there. They can detain you just on what a person says. It doesn't even have to be true, but, they can still detain you for a substantial amount of time. The Aruban authorities says the system works, well, of course it works, in THEIR favor! You don't have a fighting chance. Sometimes I bitch about how open our society is, but, today I am thanking my lucky stars that we have a great open society.
I just caught a snippet of a Fox interview with either Natalee's biofather or her stepfather in which he said he knew 'he' was lying. The 'he' referred to was evidently van der Sloop. I could be wrong, but I thought Natalee's dad said he'd seen van der Sloop...only for a few minutes, but knew he was lying. It could be that he viewed a police videotape or maybe the Aruban police and the FBI allowed him to actually talk to all three arrested 'boys', in hopes that they'd feel compassion for her family and confess or at least tell them where they saw her 'fall or jump into the sea' or whatever -- some scenario that absolved them of blame. Hopefully, the FBI has cadaver dogs searching the island.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
ah wait a minute, the role of the Aruban police is to investigate the crime not feed the 24-7 news cycle of the American media
anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of police investigations knows that you keep as much information under wraps as long as you can BECAUSE OTHERWISE IT CAN COMPROMISE AN INVESTIGATION, in a number of ways......
so I think the American and other media should just take a pill and starting reporting other stories like Mugabe ordered a mosque destroyed and try to see the Islamic world will start burning and pissing on Zimbabwe flags
And that's your opinion. I have mine and you have yours. What I see going in Aruba is gross incompetency and negligence. They could have had this case solved days after her disappearance. It's clear to me that they don't know what the hell they're doing over there. They've already admitted that this has never happened before and that they live in "crime free" country. In order to be really good at something you have to have had practice in doing it.
They've also said that they're not used to all of the media attention focused squarely on them. If the media are forcing them to do their jobs even better, then I am all for it. It is because of the media this case is being watched under a microscope by the whole world. If the authorities screw up big time then it will be exposed for all the world to see. In which it will make me think twice about planning my next holiday there.
