Hopefully there were some terrorists in that group of insurgents. < /sarcasm>
Bring in the next group of martyrs, please!
Hurry up! Keep this line moving!
Imagine that, one minute they are the boss mistreating civilians..the next minute the long Arms of America reach out and snuff them. I bet the locals were lol.
Sounds like overkill, but I'm not complaining.
Film at 11? Please!
Hee hee! Take that ya bast*rds!
One good thing about the Iraq war is that all the Islamic Terrorists go to Iraq to fight us where we can bomb them intead of coming over to the U.S or another country where we have to deal with them with civilian law enforcement methods.
About damn time! Use the full force of our air power and clean out this scum. No more of this pussyfooting around. Level the place!
Only 40!
From the start I've been a supporter of turning Iraq into a black hole for terrorists. To every idiot that said the war would end up being a magnet for terrorists, I said that's great. Let's kill everyone one of them that believes in the martyerdom for virgins BS.
Uh, the idea, though, is to create an Iraq in which the Iraqis who are (more or less) on our side and the civilians who are just trying to get on with their lives can live safely. "Killing them all" sounds good, but isn't really the result that we want.
For example, in the early 1990's, American inner cities were (to put it mildly) not in the best shape. There was never any doubt that at any given time 3rd MAW could have leveled South Central LA. Though American cities are still pretty dangerous, the amounts of homicides were drastically lowered throughout the country by a decade of patient robust policing. No, it doesn't give the visceral thrill of immediate accomplishment, but it's the only way to improve security if you're trying to avoid killing the bystanders in wholesale lots.
I know what your saying, but it is also quite obvious that these terrorists could not get away with doing these things without locals helping them.
Taking the extremely careful (and politically correct) approach might work, but will take years and cost many more American lives than is necessary. Personally I care more about American lives than civilians who are aiding the enemy.
Air power can work and will work, if we have the guts to do it.

Seven missiles were fired at heavily armed insurgents near Karabilah, close to the volatile town of Qaim, the Marines said in a statement.
The insurgents were armed with AK-47 assault rifles, machine guns and rocket-propelled grenade launchers and had "set up a barricade on a main road to the city and were threatening Iraqi civilians," the military said.
U.S. warplanes backed by helicopters started the airstrikes at 11:40 a.m. and ended them at 4 p.m. "once all the targets were destroyed," the military said. About 40 insurgents were killed. The Marines suffered no casualties.
"The coalition aircraft and fighter jets and attack helicopters from the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing attacked the insurgent compound and surrounding area targeting the armed men," the statement said. "There are no reports of civilian casualties or collateral damage."
It was unclear whether any foreign fighters were among the slain insurgents. The region is known as a haven for Islamic extremists crossing in and out of Iraq across the Syrian border to attack U.S. and Iraqi security forces.
The U.S. military launched two major counterinsurgent offensives in the area last month that killed an estimated 140 militants.
Since Thursday, insurgent attacks in Iraq's volatile Anbar province have claimed the lives of seven Marines. The bodies of 21 slain Iraqi men, some beheaded and most shot in the head, were found Friday in three separate locations near Qaim.
It is feared the bodies may belong to about 20 Iraqi soldiers who went missing Wednesday after leaving a military base bound for a vacation in Baghdad. http://p112.news.scd.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050611/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_airstrike_6

You know that's just gotta hurt.
Why are we not hitting the Syrians directly? They are behind most of this insurgent invasions of Iraq.
