Per Fox News...
Sounds like Aruba MSM damage control or SNAFU CYA LE(Arubian) incompetence. One thing I am glad of the some of the blood evidence(forensic exam) will be done in America hopefully, by the FBI Crime Lab. NSNR
It looks like a 3rd rate island.
Don't have much faith; because of what I've seen go on so far. We shall see what becomes of the blood evidence, which could have been tampered with before it left the island. I don't trust these people.

It took a brain scientist to figure the girl has met her demise? This investigation has become a joke since conception, with all the leaked info and then sudden retractions on part of the Arubian authorities/politicos. I am anxious to see if there are going to be any differences in the blood evidence findings. The FBI forensic report versus the Arubian (Dutch) forensic report, this will be interesting.NSNR
With the patter of little feet, come a thousand words I'll have to eat.
That says it all. Most of us have had to eat our words at one time or another and I also learned to never ever say....Not my kid!
Hah, you never know what your kid is going to do and it's only by the grace of g-d that most of them escape to adulthood unscathed.
I'm in agreement that the Arubian authorities have managed to botch this investigation to the hilt. Not only does it reek of a cover-up, but these folks are dangerously close to aiding and abetting murderers.
I saw a little snip of the step-father's remarks on Fox & Friends this morning and it tore me up. These are decent people that are in an impossible situation and frustrated to the max. Like he said, why wasn't the car impounded the first day? That blood could have been tested nearly two weeks ago. Sorry, but this Dutch kid is being protected.
I hope the Arubian authorities know that tourists from the U.S. are watching closely. Arrrrrrgh!
Having a ten year old and a five year old does NOT qualify you to discuss what they will or will not do as teens.
As Sipowitzh NYPD Blue would say, he "doesn't know jack." NSNR

What a great saying. I'm in total agreement in that no one ever knows what their kids will do. Foolish mistakes are made every minute of the day. Fortunately, most aren't life vs death decisions.
This whole story is such a sad situation. When I saw Natalee's Mom & Step-father on Geraldo, it made my heart literally ache. It's bad enough to be dealing with the probable death of your child/step-daughter, but to be jerked around by the Arubian authorities, is just flat out unforgivable and WRONG!
Running with stories without any corroboration at all.
There is no news so they make up news......
When I see Whorealdo kissing up to the parents my stomach turns.
As frustrated as we all are watching this debacle, can you imagine the frustration of the FBI agents who are on site and having to deal with these clowns?

well my idea of a vacation is not out of the country but sleeping in my bed, so it doesnt really matter to me :)
When we watch other countries judicial systems, it reminds us that even though we have problems, our country still is the very best in the world.
Was he sentenced to 12 years, or was his actual time spent behind bars 12 years? What I was talking about was the statistics from the Justice Department that says the actual time spent behind bars in the united states is about 8-9 years for all murderers (not manslaughter - murder). The celebrity killers and those that get in the news like Scott peterson and Manson serve more than 9 years, those who kill the average guy in the neighborhood spend less than 9 years.
I agree, but think the parents are so frustrated with the circle jerk from the authorities, they're desperate enough to go on Geraldo's show to let everyone know what a disaster the investigation has become. Authorities have made announcements and then retracted them. I'd hate to think of myself ever having to resort to using certain media types to get my message across, but you have to admit that it can be effective. And I hope this tactic helps these poor parents.
There's some kind of archiving on those websites. Plus whatever's left on Joran's hard drive; and presumably, the FBI is helping Aruban authorities retrieve anything and everything Joran deleted. They arrested that other pal of his, too. Kids blab like crazy to each other, so Joran might have emailed this other kid in a panic. The Aruban cops arrest the other kid, seize his computer, then pressure, pressure (the kid's family has to be freaking), until something gives. Maybe if the DNA shows the blood in Joran's car is Natalee's, they can get him for murder without her body. They'd need a mountain of circumstantial evidence, though.
Amen!
Brigette, the loss of tourism is his main concern(PM). He is just giving lip service for P.R and tourism damage control. As someone mentioned before, this has all the makings of the Joan Benot Ramsey case. I will add the hysterical funny episode of the Atlanta female Police Chief who suddenly discoverd she was wearing a stolen necklace from a burglary.(swept under the table) This investigation has been mishandled from the very beginning. Incompetence breeds incompetence and we are seeing the results. The FBI could possibly turn this thing around, if in charge.NSNR
