Per Fox News...
"She might have been a virgin. In which case a little blood in the back seat would be normal.."
Are you friggin' kidding me??? You're an idiot!
Article I previously linked said boys went to the "Faro di California." It's kind of a pidgin Spanish language. The lighthouse they went to (if they did go) is the California Lighthouse on Aruba. Named after a nearby wreck of the ship "California"
"if you swim in shark-infested waters don't be surprised if you end up being the dinner of a shark."
The shark can't help it.
Any parent who hasn't figured out that ALL of these spring break resorts, in OR out of the country, are drinking and nudity parties haven't watched much TV. These "Girls Gone Wild" things are being set up all over the place--Fort Lauderdale, Panama City Beach, You Name a Beach.
Scuse me...why is he an idiot for saying that virgins sometimes bleed after first intercourse?
Lock it and throw away the key.
My eldest daughter is going to hear all about this story tonight. And the main theme wont be not to leave America, (though it will be encouraged) but that wherever she is there are predators and she should be alert, smart, and not trust strangers. Avoiding alcohol is a good idea too.
The thing is, if you do something stupid, sometimes you get hurt or even killed while doing it. It was just plain stupid to get into a car with three strange men. Yes, they did the killing--but she made it easier by getting into the car.
Scuse me...why is he an idiot for saying that virgins sometimes bleed after first intercourse?
Suppose there MIGHT be a bit more blood at a murder scene? Just a guess here.
Or she might have been having her period. Blood in the car doesn't prove anything by itself.
With all the confusing reports and speculations...I hadn't heard how much blood evidence was found in the car.
With all due respect, I must disagree. Things like this can happen to anyone.
First of all she was 17 (?18). When I was 18, I ruled the world. I could vote. I could drink and I went on a cruise on my senior trip. This was in 1972.
But I am now 51 and age and experience have taught me how much I did not know then. Having raised 3 sons (one just 14, the other 2 24 and 26) I know how stupid/dumb/naive 18 year olds can be.
Some people, especially kids, know evil is out there, but the reality of that evil is abstract.
We all make bad choices. we all bear a responsibility for those choices. But many of those choices are a result of being human, rather than a character issue.
It is very appropriate to use this a a lesson for our children. When a kid dies as a result of carelessness on the road one would think it would be a trigger for his or her classmates to change their reckless behavior. It's not. More than likely, within a day or two, they will go back to the very behavior that puts them at such a risk. "It can't/won't happen to me." These lessons are lost on many in that age group, because they are in that age group.
Natalee bears no blame for what happened to her. Nor do her parents.
I tried to talk her out of it, but will pray for her safe return. I can't do much else, at this point!!!
She found the key...
That was perfectly put. Thank you for your post.
Should not be too difficult for him to find someone who will "ensure justice."
oh how sad...prayers to the family and friends :(
But consider that Natalee had been partying with these people for a couple of days. She was hanging with the "in-crowd" of the island. The boys had friends and everyone at the bar probably knew them. All were from good families. She certainly wasn't accepting a ride from just anyone. Most everyone knew them by name. And the ONE boy's father was in the criminal justice system. These boys were popular and came with a pedigree.
See where I'm going with this? In her judgment, these boys were probably the least likely to cause her harm.
sw
Geraldo on Fox right now---is saying that they don't know if she is alive or dead!!!
I agree, and my apologies for the "idiot" comment.... (emotional response and it was disrespectful, I'm sorry...)
I just can't imagine that news of "blood in the car" would be leaked and then reported if it was from menstrating or if it was a first sexual experience. My take is, if it's being reported.... there's some sort of trail they are following.. (I don't mean blood trail, I mean they are following sequential events that may haev taken place... )
