Howard Dean's missing funny bone - (Dean has Republicans investing in champagne futures!)
JEWISH WORLD REVIEW.COM ^ | JUNE 10, 2005 | KATHLEEN PARKER

"Look, I'm not a perfect person. I have my warts. I sometimes say things that get me in trouble. I wear suits that are cheap. But I say what I think and I believe what I say, and I'm willing to say things that are not popular but ordinary people know are right." Howard Dean

Howard Dean, G-d's gift to the Republican Party, has a point. He says things that get him in trouble, things that are not popular, but things that ordinary people know are true — if not precisely accurate.

I know what you're thinking. He should apply for a job with CBS.

No, what Dean should do is wait tables in a comedy club and try to pick up tips on timing and delivery. The man's got good lines, but his delivery has all the finesse and art of a pizza truck.

People should be slapping their thighs and shaking their heads, saying: "That Howard, what a hoot!"

It's worth noting, of course, that those complaining loudly are mostly the Democrats inside the Beltway with presidential aspirations, such as Senators Joe Biden and John Edwards. "Distancing Dean" may be the first unofficial slogan of Campaign 2008.

Democrats beyond the Beltway, on the other hand, are mostly grateful that Dean's bringing the Democratic Party back home. All those states previously believed to be useless in presidential races are suddenly back on the party map.

And, of course, Republicans — though Deeply Offended — invest in champagne futures every time Dean opens his mouth.

The hand-wringing from both sides is touching and gives the media something to talk about besides Michael Jackson's dating habits. But it's strictly made-for-TV schtick — sound and fury signifying nothing.

Don't be so sure that Dean doesn't reflect the passion and deep feelings of the Democratic party. The liberals I talk to are not only not upset by him, but are thrilled with him. While some may consider him a bit out there, they really believe this stuff.

Trying to talk to Dean would be very much like talking to one of my liberal/democratic friends for more than 3 minutes.

Isn't that why Bolton is being put through the wringer?

"I hate Republicans"

Republicans are all White Christians

Therefore how I feel about Republicans is how I feel about White Christians"

"White Christians have never made an honest living in their lives."

"White Christians are evil."

"White Christians are mean."

Liberals, to see how we feel when we hear this, subsitute the word "Jew" for the term "White Christian"

Great pic of Dean as Hitler. A year ago, it may have seemed over the top (to some), but after his most recent comments, it's very appropriate.

The fallback position of people who know they've stepped in it. Heck, I've used it myself!

Democrats, the enemy within

There just isn't any good reason to keep them around any longer.

The Whig Party dissolved over the issue of slavery. The Northern Whigs (anti-slavery) joined the Republicans and the Know-Nothing Party and the Southern Whigs (pro-slavery) joined the Democrats.

Just WTF do the Democrats stand for?

Enemy rights?

I agree with every word. The problem is, the "venting" liberals are the edge that insures the party as a whole won't attain anymore power, just as Buchanan turned just enough people off back in 1992. It FEELS good, but it prevents just enough swing voters from going your way.

I tell the libs I know who enjoy this that they have been laughing this way ever since the 2000 election. My answer to them is that I have been the one laughing the one day a year that it counts, politically--the day after election day.

The RATS picked Crazy Howie to appeal to the lowest common denominator of their party, and by God, he's doing it. The RAT leaders apparently didn't realize that anarchist rabble like dean appeals to don't have any money to send in.

"Great pic of Dean as Hitler."

Ditto. What is creepy is how much his extremism, plus his style, diction and body language really could reveal the hidden dictator within this man. Right now, he's a laughable strutting little barnyard rooster.....but people forget that only a small fraction of Germans took Hitler seriously in his early days, before the Munich beer hall Putsch.

It's a good thing that Dean hasn't a prayer of being President of the United States, because to my thinking, he is very deeply "dark," a word which - curiously - he chose to describe Republicans.

Can we say "projection?"

We laugh because dems aren't in power. But think how a party that felt the way they do about one religious group would act if they were in power. I'm starting to feel that Dean's not funny. And even if he helps us with fund raising, it's not worth it. Dean needs to step down.

You're right. And the liberals can't see it. I don't want that man in a position of power. Dean needs to go.

How very antisemitic. Eiewww!!

I totally avoid politics. And it is harder and harder to be with them. The gulf is pretty big because of their anti-American feelings dominating what is left of them being Americans. My rabid patriotism is like a red flag to them. So I say to them... " Well, Ecuuuuse ME!(ha)."
