Robert Vasquez announces run for Congress (Idaho First District)

CALDWELL -- Canyon County Commissioner Robert Vasquez announced today that he is running for Congress in 2006.

The Caldwell Republican vowed to do all he can to defend our nation’s borders from illegal immigrants.

“How can our federal representatives strive to grant amnesty to illegal aliens, while asking our young men and women to secure a foreign border, but ignoring ours, and allowing millions of illegal aliens to enter literally at will,” Vasquez said.

Vasquez stated he does not want to see Idaho become like California and Arizona.

“Those who are aware of the illegal aliens overwhelming the medical and social services of those states realize that it will take a different mentality to honestly address the issue,” Vasquez said.

Vasquez said Congress has ignored important matters to Idaho such as illegal immigration, failed to stop the CAFTA from going forward, ignored the affects of the World Trade Organization on American industry, and continues to send our young men and women to fight in Iraq.

Vasquez is seeking the seat currently held by First District Congressman Butch Otter, who plans a run for governor in 2006.

Vasquez is a real American and a real Republican. Unlike most of the open borders surrender monkeys in the Senate with an 'R' after their names.

Because Muslim terrorists are crossing the border in Iraq, not Mexican baby sitters.

Out of 12,000 border guards, not a single one has caught a terrorist. Out of nearly 200 criminal cases related to terrorism since 9/11, not one single defendant was a border jumper.

President Bush has a 100% perfect record on protecting America from terrorist since 9/11. If he belies that terrorists should be killed in Iraq instead of waiting until they get to the border , I'll follow his lead.

I heard Vasquez on the radio last week and he's got a website, but I didn't catch what it is. Do you happen to know?

It's something like www...... ;^) and I didn't hear the rest. I'd like to send him a campaign contribution.

Were they foreign terrorists? No one has claimed credit like Muslim terrorists ususally do. The government has concentrated on disgruntled lab workers.

Don't know, but I'll post it when I find it. Unless some else beats me to it.

Heck yeah! And he's got a wicked cool last name ... maybe he's a long-lost relative.

If he lived here in CA I'd vote Anna Eshoo (D, for dummy) out of office in a second.

This guy is going to win. Heard him on Laura Ingraham. He's been taking crap from the "Let's be warm and fuzzy with the Illegals" crowd.

Oh, you think MS-13 members are not terrorists? What about all the foreign nationals, not mexicans, caught last week that were sent back home? Do you know they were not terrorists? What about the lodi bunch, are they not terrorists? What makes you think some have not slipped through our borders, do you have proof?

As far as 12,000 bp agents not catching terrorists, what is unusal about that? They don't catch the mexican "baby sitters" as you call them either and when they do catch illegals they release them on their OR never to be seen again. Can you gaurantee none of them are terrorists?

I've seen you on here before taking the illegals side, always trying to portray them as harmless, hardworking individuals. Some of them may be, but they are still criminals. Our borders need to be secured regardless of what people with your mind set think.

He lost my contribution with his last statement. One reason that fewer terrorists are crossing our borders and doing harm in America is that the terrorists are focusing their efforts on Iraq. I don't like that our servicemen are having to be there and having to fight, but I'd rather have the front in the war on terrorism be over there than over here. Pulling out of Iraq is not going to make our borders more secure.
