The No. 2 Democrat in the Senate yesterday blamed "the right wing" and elements of the press "in service to it" for repeating Howard Dean's remarks about Republicans and inflating them out of proportion.
"I think we all understand what's happening with you all," said Senate Minority Whip Richard J. Durbin, in remarks echoing Hillary Rodham Clinton's blaming a "vast right-wing conspiracy" for her husband's legal-ethical woes.
"The right wing has got the agenda moving. Fox [News Channel] and everybody's got the agenda. It's all about Howard Dean. You've bought into it," Mr. Durbin said.

New tagline.
I for one am glad for the return of the VRWC. We put Monica in the Whitehouse and now we are puting words in the mouth of Howard Dean. Arn't we diabolical?
:)
Correction. It's not his foot that Dean likes the taste of.
Sounds like Durbin is having one of those Captain Queeg moments.
Isn't it emblematic that Democrat politicians seem to have no problem accusing the media (falsely) of conservative bias, but Republican politicians are generally mum about accusing the media (truthfully) of liberal bias?
Funny how a few weeks ago after the Newsweek bogus story and the White House suggested they try to make amends for it,the press corp went insane.
How dare you tell the press what to say,Who made you the editor and so on.
The libs regularly lecture the press on what to say and how to report and not ever a word of protest from them about it.
"Well then this has got to be rock bottom? "
When DemocRATS hit rock bottom they start drilling and blasting.
This is the Dem's high water mark in Illinois, and hopefully next year we start turning the tide. That's what I keep telling myself at least...
One hopes.
Do the Illinois RINOs have anybody credible on tap? Nobody named Ryan, for starters. Nobody with a weird sexual history. No carpetbaggers. They seem to have had a deathwish these last few elections.
Here is a transcript I took from the TiVo of Brit Hume of FNC reporting on Durbin's comments on this event:
And Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin complained about the agressive questions from reporters at today's Capitol Hill event with DNC Chairman Howard Dean and Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid. We showed it to you earlier. He singled out Fox's Brian Wilson especially, telling other reporters later that Wilson quote, "owned that press conference, he owned it! You should be ashamed!" He also called Wilson quote "a big moose." Wilson, who stands 6'-4" and weighs over 250 pounds, denied being a moose, insisting he is much more of a gazelle.A couple of comments:
o Brit delivered that last purely deadpan. I about rolled off of the couch laughing.
o The Dems show by this whole thing, once again, that they are totally unable to handle tough questioning from the press, as they are used to the L/MSM wearing kneepads for them.
Will all members of the vast right wing conspiracy please stand up and laugh at the thought of a "right wing" controlled media! I guess they don't like it when the media doesnt play softball with them.
LOL, thanks! Just outta curiosity, anyone know how tall Durbin is?
Bingo! See my second comment in the post just above yours.
"The following stunts were performed by professionals, so neither you nor your dumb buddies should attempt anything from this movie. . . "
For several years the democrats had better politicans than we had. More astute, just better at playing the game. Our good news is that they don't anymore. I was out of town earlier in the week and saw Matt Lauer questioning Dean about his comments etc. Even Matt was dogging him. Dean is who walks around with a huge target on him. I would guess that he won't still be the chairman during Hillary's run.
Durbin & Dean = Dumb & Dumber
I was hoping to get the scoop on Durbin accusing Brian Wilson of Fox of taking over the press conference. I heard Brit mention it last night on Special Report, but I missed the beginning and wanted to get all the juicy details.
