Washington's answer to every problem -
Throw money - LOTS and LOTS of money . .==================================
Another $500 million would be spent annually by the Department of Homeland Security to improve security along Mexico and Canada's borders under the proposal.

A Freaking chainlink fence with razor wire and a 220 amp charge wont cost $500 million dollars even if it did it would be well worth it!

Doubling the size is not enough, and Kyl knows this.

Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn and Kyl are co-sponsoring a bill mandating a five billion dollar program that would double the size of the Border Patrol over the next five years, adding 10,000 agents. Is this in addition to the 10,000 agents that was part of the National Intelligence Reform Act of 2004, or are they just adding back in 10,000 agents because Bush's proposed 2006 budget only asked for 210 agents?
February 9, 2005 -- Officially approved by Bush on Dec. 17 [2004], the National Intelligence Reform Act included the requirement to add 10,000 border patrol agents in the five years beginning with 2006. ... But Bush's proposed 2006 budget, revealed Monday, funds only 210 new border agents.SNIP

"Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn and Kyl are co-sponsoring a bill mandating a five billion dollar program that would double the size of the Border Patrol over the next five years, adding 10,000 agents. "I love it. John Cornyn is our best hope for president in '08. 100% conservative by ACU.

This can't be done.
Just ask Mr. Bonner ICE/BP senior senor chief dude.
A short time ago, Bonner moaned and groaned when he thought he was getting 2000 (not 10000) over a similiar period.
Bonner said such a large number was rediculous as the BP could not train and absorb such additional staff...
It's a good thing Mr. Bonner was not in charge when Pearl Harbor happened and the US military went from about zero to millions overnight.
If anyone wants to see the news report on this, don't yell or call me liar, liar--just ask nicely and I'll start looking for it.

How about posting signs all along the border that read: LIVE MORTAR TESTING AREA. TESTS ARE RANDOM AND TAKE PLACE UNANNOUNCED!
To: Happy2BMe
The proposal will go nowhere period .The politicians who have sold out this country will make speeches on the campaign stump about how they tried to secure the borders but their was just to much opposition . Sadly I truly believe it will take more than one repeat of the atrocity that occurred on Sept.11,2001 to get the whores that are the Congress of the United States off their dead asses.

Shell game. They could pass a bill mandating 1,000,000 new agents, and when time comes to pass the budget bill paying for them, we end up actually getting 1. We're not falling for that again. SHOW ME THE MONEY AGENTS! Or better yet, change the laws so that private citizens can easily sue employers who knowingly hire illegals. And collect their legal fees when they win. Let's finally get some good out of the litigious swarm of the plaintiff bar.
