Washington, DC, Jun. 9 (UPI) --
Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn and Kyl are co-sponsoring a bill mandating a five billion dollar program that would double the size of the Border Patrol over the next five years, adding 10,000 agents.
Another $500 million would be spent annually by the Department of Homeland Security to improve security along Mexico and Canada's borders under the proposal.

How about posting signs all along the border that read: LIVE MORTAR TESTING AREA. TESTS ARE RANDOM AND TAKE PLACE UNANNOUNCED!

"My point was how quick the millions in the WW2 military grew"
It grew but did little until it was trained. All the early fighting was done by in place assets.

The proposal will go nowhere period .The politicians who have sold out this country will make speeches on the campaign stump about how they tried to secure the borders but their was just to much opposition . Sadly I truly believe it will take more than one repeat of the atrocity that occurred on Sept.11,2001 to get the whores that are the Congress of the United States off their dead asses.

He is no conservative. He is not to the right of GWB.A 100 ACU rating in the Senate means nothing. They simply do not vote on conservative enough bills. If he got a hundred in 2003 that is saying something.

I agree. We need a wall plain and simple. Having more agents is not ging to deter these people from coming. If caught they just try it again. We have to have a real deterrent so that they wont even think about coming here illegally.

Shell game. They could pass a bill mandating 1,000,000 new agents, and when time comes to pass the budget bill paying for them, we end up actually getting 1. We're not falling for that again. SHOW ME THE MONEY AGENTS! Or better yet, change the laws so that private citizens can easily sue employers who knowingly hire illegals. And collect their legal fees when they win. Let's finally get some good out of the litigious swarm of the plaintiff bar.
