Variation on a theme:

MAN OF THE HOUSE

Three husbands had just finished discussing the book, "Man of the House" around the water cooler at work. Each stormed home and walked directly up to their wives.

The first husband pointed a finger in his wife's face and said, "From now on, I want you to know that I am the man of this house, and my word is law! I want you to prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a sumptuous dessert. I expect to see some changes around here."

The second husband said the same thing to his wife and added that after dinner, he expected her to draw him a bath so that he can relax. He said "I expect to see some changes around here."

The third husband said all the same things to his wife, then demanded that she be ready and waiting for him in bed as soon as his bath was done, every night from now on. He said "I expect to see some changes around here."

Later that week the three men were once again talking around the water cooler. The first man said that he saw positive changes in his relationship right away.

The second man said that he saw changes the next day.

The third man didn't see any changes on the first day after his conversation. He didn't see any changes on the second day, either. By the third day, the swelling had gone down barely enough...
