I don't think they would have upped the stakes on themselves if they didn't have the votes. Impeaching Bush came up several months ago. They would have taken a head count before they showed their hand.

On one hand I'd like to see the hearings and the "evidence."

Now with the MSM it's anything goes; moveon, Soros, Michael Moore, Hollywood, universities, talking head shows, et al. can get anything disseminated.

Actually trying to present the "evidence" in a rational convincing way under rigorous questioning will expose the lies. Should the liars become frustrated and react with the antics reminiscent of the 1950s hearings on un American activities, as is their wont, it will shock the public. They'd be exposed as dangerous fools -- and worse.

On the other hand, I have no confidence that the Congressional Republicans have the personal strength and courage to confront the lies. It could backfire.
