MANCHESTER, N.H. --The grandfather of a 2-year-old "mystery girl" was arraigned Thursday on charges of possessing pornographic photos of her.
Police say they were led to Richard Hawes, 63, of New Boston, by a clerk who found sexually explicit digital images on a self-serve photo kiosk at a Manchester CVS store. The clerk went to police who, desperate to identify her, released other photos of the girl on Tuesday. They said they had credible information the toddler was in danger and that her parents might not have known about it.
The girl's father, Jeffrey Hawes, of Winter Park, Fla., saw the photos Wednesday on national television and called police, according to an affidavit filed in Manchester District Court.
Jeffrey Hawes said his father had visited the family in Florida about four to six weeks ago. During a police interview, Richard Hawes said he had taken sexually explicit photos of his granddaughter with his digital camera, the affidavit said.

How could anyone take the pictures to a photo kiosk!!!! Not only perverted, but extraordinarily stupid. Maybe he wanted to be caught.

It's one thing to post the grandfather's photo, but why did the BoGlob publish the little girl's?

That's automatic. She's now "in the system", and God help the parents even though, let us give them the benefit of any doubt, they had no knowledge of this incident. Now will begin the hearings, the lawyers, the social workers, the police, ad infinitum. It's a pretty tough situation for all concerned to be in now, compliments of good ol' Grandad.

Oh my neighbor recently told me that her father sexually abused her while she was growing up. Then went on to tell me that she's forgiven him now that he's found Jesus. Uh-huh.

Sigh.
I'm so tired of reading articles like this. I'm going back to the General Chat threads to get this out of my mind.

Perverts and miscreants seem to have a way of "finding Jesus" when they know they're in trouble, don't they?

Some of them 'have Jesus' when they do it. Its amazing how twisty-twerky the human mind can be.

Yes, bonfire, even crimes that repulsive and disgusting can be washed away by the Blood of Christ.
We can't understand it, but God does.

I would personally pull the trigger. You're too merciful. I envision something involving four horses and ropes.

I'm certain it would be a crime in most states. That continues to victimize a child. Shame on them.

I need more info than this story gives. I would like them to define "sexually explicit". Maybe they were just bath-time photos... (doubtful, but I still need more info.) I have photos of both of my kids nekkid in the bath tub, but they are for posterity - not gratification. My parents took bath pics of me and my sister too.If they were taken for sexual gratification, then they should hang him by his peanuts with barbed wire.
