Good Thursday morning, fellow political junkies. Today's cloture vote on the Pryor nomination is scheduled at 4:PM. Follow along with us, here, and comment...
Lotsa oxy-morons in the senate!
Most, but not all, on the left side of the aisle!!
Who will you run against her..
Levin:
"We submitted blue slips, but they ignored us"
Of course, they had the committee hearing, but the nominees were held anyway. And Hatch was trying to get rid of blue slips, and the republicans got rid of blue slips.
He mentioned that Alberto Gonzalez agreed that it was wrong to hold up the michigan nominees during clinton. But if I remember correctly, BUSH RESUBMITTED one of the michigan nominees in his first set of nominees, along with another CLINTON nominee -- they both got quick approval.
So Bush DID try to solve the problem.
True..but many of those were made in the last 6 months of the Clinton admin..those appts never get passed..
We Declare this a no whinning zone!
Good it's about time!
Well I hope you send Moore, no pun. Sitting up north here, I have the impression, Moore would beat Pryor in a general election.
Well Pryor is in now, lets see how he does.

2. Brown, Filibustered but CONFIRMED
3. Estrada, Filibustered and Withdrew
4. Griffin, Blue Slipped by Levin and Stabenow and renominated
5. Griffith, Filibustered and renominated

Anyone know yet who the next judge up will be?
What's your criteria for how he does?
I thought just the two up now were blue-slipped by Levin and Stabenow.

46. what a terrific compromise, eh?
The Republicans get everything they want - we end up with nothing. "
For once the Dummies understand what is happening.
The Republicans get everything they want - we end up with nothing.
Well, the DUmmies and KOSacks can hope that signing their "electronic" petitions can somehow force the HOUSE of reps (or if it is easier to think about it this way, tom delay) to impeach the president based on some stupid memo... The DU hive is about to melt down.
WOWEE , thanks
I'm startin' to like this Allen guy. :)
Graphic bump
Yes, Allen has the potential to be the Senate version of DeLay, just without the ethical baggage.
Well, the state GOP establishment is against Moore, the business community is against Moore, Jeff Sessions is passionately against Moore because Moore embarassed him last year
I think the Frist, McConnell plan is working really fine....just keep going with it!
That is what I thought, I just got done teaching for the day so I am behind the learning curve each day on this until the end of the month.
