It doesn't matter whether or not Bolton is part of the 'deal'.

Filibustering an executive branch nominee, essentially a cabinet appointment, is even more ridiculous and untenable than filibustering a judicial nominee. They WILL not win on a nuke vote there: if they even try it, McLame and Hitlery will make sure that Frist gets at least 50 votes Aye.

No one who has any aspirations of being president wants their picks for Cabinet positions subject to the whims of the 40 "whackiest" Senators from the other side of the aisle.

did notice that Conyers didn't have on his list of witnesses next week during the hearing, an English linguist!

Now come on...that would defeat the purpose of the circus!

If Saad is destined to defeat, get it over quickly so W can nominate someone else ASAP.

My first choice is to get him confirmed; my second choice is to see him lose in an up and down vote if that is his destiny; my last choice is waiting forever to find out while the seat remains vacant.

A 39 year old just edged his way BACK into the military and was sworn in today. Go here if you want to wish him well.

"When a grand total of three (3) Senators voted against Ginsberg, there's not much room for the Demodogs to say the Pubbies vote in lockstep. If they did, Ginsberg would not be on the USSC screwing up every vote."

The media doesn't talk about Clinton nominees anymore. They only look at the Bush nominees and think that Republicans voting to confirm all shows a lack of independence. It doesn't occur to them that these are all qualified nominees, so why wouldn't any sensible person vote for them all.

Brit said that Durbin called Wilson a moose (he's 6 ft 5, 250 lbs). Wilson denied that he's a moose.

Shall we call Durbin's office and vouch for Wilson that he is indeed not a moose....we personally know some moose (meese?!?) and believe us, He is NO moose!!

PS Don't tease the cat by mentioning the word Fix around him or her.....not nice!!! LOL

Some one told me on here today that Griffith is up Monday. He is the nominee to the DC curcuit that replaced Estrada when he withdrew.

Ya'll know, that in the south and in the central red states, like Iowa and Missouri, that "fix" has a different meaning...

As in "getting ready to"---I am fixing to go to the store.

LOL

When my mother, who was from Iowa, would go to the stove to pick up the pot of beans or potatoes, she used the word "lift"---She would say, "I'll go lift the beans and potatoes from the stove."

Different dialects and terminology are used even here in the USA, let alone from here to England...

Durbin seems like such a "small" person, that I bet he wouldn't want to "fight" Brian about it though!!! LOL

I think WE are out of luck. Believe it or not, I went to a recruiters office last January, and that poor soldier did his best not to laugh. No, they won't take us.

Did you find the thread? It was a real tear jerker, with him being a FReeper and all.
