These Rat Senators need to be able to say "I don't vote against all Bush nominees, only the bad ones"
They select a few non-controversial nominees to do this with, and the media eats up their "fair-mindedness" and case by case decision making, while saying the GOP senators are in lock-step because they vote for every single one of Bush's nominees.
Just the usual game playing.
Bolton isn't even part of the "deal", nor was the "nuclear option" going to apply to anyone besides judges.
Great read from DU. Thanks.
Teddy looks like he is flicking a booger in that pic
Another thought on the battle so far! They have used a lot of energy and money and we got 5 judges confirmed....pretty damn good.....how hard are they going to fight on the next nominations?
I understand the dynamics, but am still mad at McCain and the others (not so much at Graham, and Dewine, though).
I must adimt, I do like the irony. I think for the deal to have been a plus for the donks, they had to stall Frist's judicial agenda and get some consessions from RINOS to "backdoor-torpedo" some of the juges. Frist is not going to let it happen, so it looks as if in the end he is going to use the deal to snooker the donks and RINOS. Graham and Dewine will nuke the donks if they fililbuster. I think that the rinos, MSM and media, DUmmies and KOSacks are just starting figuring this out. Filibustering bolton was a huge stratgeic mistake for the donks.
ROFL!!!
He may have four this evening!
Life is good.
:-D
Poor little dears. tch tch
I didn't imply that it did.
I want Bolton to try and get his hands around the UN. That is the important vote to me. Maybe not to you, but to me it is.
I don't want the UN running rough shod over us, with Bolton there, they'll have a harder time trying.
I just love it when a plan comes together!
We definitely need a "strong" person in the UN
I want Bolton approved!
Get over it. We could never absolutely count on McCain, or the Maine Sisters, or Chafee. The worst scenario imaginable was a loss on the nuclear vote.
The other thing that many were whining about when the deal went down was that there was a secret agreement to torpedo one of the "extreme 3". That has now been proved false.
Amen, we want Bolton too! No Mercy!
Maybe the way we feel is that without the RINOs particularly McCain the Dims would not have had the nerve to try these filibuters in the first place and these judges would have been confirmed years ago.
