I understand, but what of those who feel remorse for those human actions, yet for some reason can't remove them from their lives? It's like those traits are hardwired.

Nothing is impossible for God FRiend? John wrote the Book of John to evangelize the sinner, he wrote the Epistles of John to edify the Saints.

All Christians at some point have doubts about their salvation. John is simply telling you that doubts are OK...all Christians have them. Doubts are good when they are warning signals. They are telling us that there is something wrong with our spirit. He didn't want people to decieve themselves and say they are saved if they didn't see a change. He's tells us we should repent and ask Jesus for help. He's saying you should get saved.

Personally, I had a problem with smoking(cigars) and drinking in my past...I justified the destruction of my body by saying it was legal. Much like this young woman is doing. Then I was convicted after reading Leviticus 10:9 when God said that no priest should share his word in the temple after they imbibe in strong drink or wine. "Lest ye die."

Well, as a Christian I know that I'm the priest and as a Christian I know that the new testament temple is my very own body. I also know that as a Christian and a father that I should be a witness and should share the Word to everyone...especially my family.

I suggest getting to Church first...surround yourself with the brethren. Next I would bathe any problems I have with prayer and give them to God. Lastly, I would read the Bible a little everyday. Hearing God's word for one hour a week is not enough. Start with yourself and let others in your family see the change in you. Eventually they are going to want whatever it is that is filling your life. Try it.
