Closing Gitmo would be the dumbest possible political maneuver for the President right now. The Democrats and the loony left would run around screaming "victory" for months on end. MoveOn.org would launch a giant celebration.

Guess you didn't see his presser with Blair yesterday. Why hell, an AP reporter, probably the same dingbat who wrote this article asked President Bush if he was going to close Gitmo amid all the allegations of abuse, he said "No".

Closing Gitmo is very very dumb. Right now it represents one of the best interrogation tools we have. Capture a bad guy in the field and start asking questions. When refuses to answer say "If you don't answer truthfully we'll send you Gitmo and no one will ever hear from you again" Most will talk without any more coercion.

Carefull. Your taking a report from AP at face value, when we know there is little truth to anything they say.

I'm more willing to believe what Rumsfeld is saying, and that is there is no one he knows in the administration who has mentioned such a thing.

I find it hard to believe that Bush would be so foolish.
